What do you get when you give a speaker designer free range to create a home installers dream? The RTJ 410 and RT18Sub is the creation of Jeff Permanian, owner of JTR Speakers and the new company, RTJ Audio. Jeff gave us a pop-up demonstration at the Audioholics Smart Home last year and the results were...amazing! In this review, we discuss the design philosophy of Jeff Permanian and RTJ Speakers. We also do a listening comparison to Gene's RBH Sound SVTRS Active speaker system. Matt includes measurements of this new RTJ super speaker system.

Would like to have the RTJ18 go up against the Perlisten D215. Would also like to see a show down of the RTJ410 go up against the JBL M2.

JTR is the original, high end line. Jeff released RTJ as more of an “entry level” brand.
Not quite. JTR would be considered his "everyman's speakers" while the RTJ brand would be for professional installers. The components in the RTJ are significantly more robust and pricing reflects that.

Appreciate the clarification. I was going off of memory, and clearly it’s not that good these days. Lol!

Lol. Ditto. The names of hifi equipment is terrible. Jeff most certainly started RTJ to protect installer/integrator markups and JTR pricing could create issues with those dealers and exclusivity does matter.

No matter what, they are way over priced . The Subs are too big , if you sell your house you can't carry those big ass subs & speakers you end up giving it away. I had one the $1800 MUSE Sub18 in an apartment & I was kicked out because of it . I might be interested in KALLOs 465 surrounds & KALLOS 265 with maybe one KALLOS sub. He's asking for $16k plus shipping .
