Rotel RSX 1550 vs Yamaha RX-A2000

Yes i am very happy with my 2 Subs. They are small in size but deliver house shaking bass. Like i mentioned, they have an 1.5" foam surround so they get up to 3" of peak to peak excursion. This moves a lot of air which is needed for good bass. Add on the 12" radiator to each & youve got a little mOnster!

They definately improved after 100hrs of break-in & i had to play with placement. They normally set on the floor with the drivers on the sides & plate amp on the back. But i turned mine so the amp is on the bottom & the active driver is front firing with radiator facing the back wall. I had to put tall rubber feet on it so the amp isnt overheating being near the floor. With this configuration i get the bass directed straight at me & the radiator is enhanced by the rear wall. So i dont get muddy bass i pulled them about 14" from the wall. The RX-A2000 has a parametric EQ for each sub so it helps flatten out the response. VERY happy with outcome!! I have a large space that is open too.

I will post some pics for you. The piano finish would match your CMs perfect too! I think the wholesaler has them on sale right now for $699 right now too. Retail is $1499 ea. Street price is about $1200 ea.

Timoteo thanks! I really do appreciate your responses!

The mini me page on the earthquake doesn't seem to be working however :(

I'm finding it hard to compare them to my current Mirage Omni S8.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond. Very informative!

I got both my Rythmik D15SE subs for $2,200.

I would check out the Audioholics Subwoofer showdown/reviews.

I read the Audioholics reviews, then the AVS forum on the Rythmik subs, and I was sold.:D

What sold me on the Rythmik subwoofers is they have excellent damping capability, Q = 0.5. Actually on the Rythmik website, they claim an effective Q value of 0.3, which is absolutely exceptional. They are extremely tight.

The Rythmik are great subwoofers.

I'm sure there are other great subwoofers out there.
Your setup looks absolutely amazing!!

The Rythmik F12SE looks really awesome! So many choices!

that's true, but I do like mine ( REL-218) well made, wife friendly and it does the job.

Hey CPP

What made you decide on the 218 compared to the 328 in the REL line?

Thanks again guys.

I think it will either be the SVS, Rythmik or REL.

Appreciate this.

Sorry i havent posted those pics yet, ive been real busy. I will get on posting pics of the Earthquake Minime P12 subs tonight. In the mean time if their website page is down go on youtube. There is a small ad for them there. Im telling you though that the passive radiator REALLY increases output. You get the benefits of a sealed sub with the benefits of a ported also. It is best of both worlds. Now no sub design is perfect & none better than the other but ive owned all 3 of the main enclosure designs & have been most impressed with PRs. Thats what DefTechs Supercubes are known for as well. In the end i hope you choose a sub that will make you uappy for a long time to come. With the options you deciding between you wont go wrong!!! But small, powerful & piano black is what sold me...plus the great price!

Thanks very much!

Once I get that settled, I need to figure out where to set my crossover point on my sub to use with my CM8s... or should I just keep it at a 2.0 setup and not use the sub?

There is an icon above the area where you type, just copy the link under the pic in photobucket and paste it in the pic button.

I think I just confused myself typing that haha.

Not quite.

You posted your email address.

If you hover over the pictures above the area where you type, you'll see a landscape picture.

Click on that and enter the link to your pic and it will include it.

Thanks.

ok so i didnt realize that the pics would be so big & didnt meant to post duplicates of the close-up of the the driver. you'd think that, me, knowing a bit about audio & electronics would easily get how to post some simple pics from my phone...pics from my computer? no prob but from my iphone or photobucket has proven to be another story!

i really just wanted to post a simple link to my new photobucket album & i am still working on figuring that out so you all dont have to deal with my trial & error.

i hope these pics help with what you were looking for Pannther. Id be happy to post any pics of specific angles, if needed just let me know.

ENJOY!!
