rocket 850 system or aperion 5t system

I have had the aperions in my house for the last 3 weeks. While I am impressed with them, I have to admit that these are the first "next level"
speakers that I have listened to. I have not heard the 850's yet. I was just wondering if someone here could offer a little insight on the two different systems and how they compare with each other. My room is 20x21x13, hardwood floors with a giant rug, my receiver is a 3808ci.

Rocket RS850 Sig tower vs Intimus 5T tower
Rocket RSC200 Sig center vs Intimus 5C center
Rocket RSS300 Dipole surrounds vs Intimus 5DB Dipole
MFW-15 sub vs Bravus 10D sub

both of these systems are real close in cost.....

thanks in advance for any and all input.

I have not heard the Aperion speakers. But I would be very surprised if they can match, or even compete in sound quality to the Rockets. The 850's with the "Bigfoot" center is a great system. IMO

I don't know where you live. But if you join here, and ask if anyone is in your area, or within driving distance to you that you can audition their 850's. I'm sure someone will be happy to oblige.

Which Aperions?

It is best not to set expectations by word of mouth. You are doing the right thing by comparing for yourself, but the timing of having the two systems is off. Audio memory is very short.

Call Aperion and ask for an extension so you can compare head to head. The worst they could say is "no".

I would go with the Aperions.

Aperion doesn't spend nearly as much money on internet advertising as av123 (maker of Rockets) does. Instead, all the money goes into research and development and using top quality components in their speakers.

Not sure about that. I see, or at least used to see, a lot of Aperion pop up ads on C-net.

Furry,

Don't go spreading your BullSh!t.

When are the Mods going to do something about this guy??? Same negative sh!t every time.

And the guy has never even auditioned the speakers.

I have Paradigm Studio 100s, and had a speaker shootout and the 850's were here, and they are both very nice looking and sound amazing, compared to the 100's, a fantastic deal... smooth clean and worth every penny of what they charge for them...

I was very impressed with them in fit and finish and SQ.... Until I heard them myself, I had some serious doubts about them.

I highly doubt the Aperions would even come close, but then again, I have never heard them, but I have read about them and from what I have read, I more then likely wouldn't care for them...

Aperion does honest, legit ads. While av123 engages in shady shill advertising.

Do a search on the avsforum, av123 has been nailed left and right.

hey guys, all I really want is just some solid sound advise....no hidden agendas.....just speak truth.....no forked tongue...... :)

I would really like to hear the 850's in my room.....

I will say this about the Aperions....they sound good but they do not wow me......the highs are great and the sub does a great job but the mid's are lacking.....

It could just be my room though...not the best situation

You can demo the Rocket Bookshelf in home. Just to get an idea of how they sound compared to the Aperion bookshelf speakers.

Also I would take my recommendation about joining AV123 and finding someone to demo their speakers for you.

IN-HOME TRIAL PERIOD
RISK FREE TRIAL!
Order a pair of [bookshelf speakers] and spend a month with them in your own home. If after 30 days you don’t love them, we will pay the shipping charges back to us, credit your original form of payment for the speakers AND the outbound shipping! (UPS GROUND only) This means the demo is no risk to you!

The only real sound advice will come from people that have heard both and are not biased. Good luck in finding that.

One thing that I find interesting is that I can find third party/professional reviews of Aperions with measurements, but I can not say the same for Rockets. FWIW and IMO, that says something.

This is an excellent idea because Aperion also has a risk free trial. They cover shipping both ways.

So you could have a bookshelf speaker from each company and compare, RISK FREE. This is what you should be encouraged to do. Right mazersteven?
