I am trying to figure out the problem that I have. I have had it for a while, but now kind of getting on my nerves ;-).

My setup:

DirecTV HR20 HDMI -> 4306 -> HDMI to DVI cable -> Toshiba 51H83 HDCP

This setup works flawlessly.

However, when I connect a DVD player or any other device via Component -> 4306 -> HDMI to DVI cable -> Toshiba 51H83 HDCP tv, it doesn't work.

Any thoughts?

Since we can not trust your screenshots anymore (see: my post above), I have this hypothesis:
- you in fact HAVE ASSIGNED HDMI input for your Direct TV, so it works fine through the HDMI->DVI output
- for other inputs (components) you FORGOT TO ENABLE the Video Converter (to HDMI), either in general, or specifically for the given inputs. In such a case the video would be output only to the component output ! (see: manual, pg.72)
- otherwise- your AVR is malfunctioning

Ok, Ok. Sorry - forgot to leave it setup the way I had it.

I will try everything and post NEW and CORRECTED screenshots this afternoon. If I do have a defective unit (bought in July 06 from authorized dealer), do I return to Denon or the dealer?

Ok, here are the new screenshots. I ran into a slight issue - When I rebooted my HR20, the startup screens displayed fine, but now I don't have any picture, but have audio. Thoughts? (i try to have the craziest issues!) No other devices work with HDMI out to the TV.
