Congratulations on your purchase! I hope it works out for both of us!
Today we had to return the 7002, about 50 miles away, so on the way there we stopped at BB. Asked if another store had the 3808 in stock along our way that we could just stop and pick it up rather than waiting for it to come in next week. The guy looked and said there was 1 store that might have 1 or 2, but he said it could be an issue with them giving it up since the price I got it at was a manager's disgression. I said that's ok, I'll wait then.
15 minutes later on the road, I get a call from BB that the receivers in!!
So we returned the 7002, took over a half an hour to get the sales guy attention away from a potential sale. Another guy tried to help me, but saw what I had and said it was closeout, I can't return it unless I'm exchanging.

Should have seen the looks I got from my wife when she overheard that...when the other guy finally got back to me though he took it back without any issues, in fact they already had it sold again.
Anyway, just hooked up the 3808, damn it's a heavy receiver. It's connected, listening to Norah Jones, did some manual setup for the speakers. I need to meet some friends online here shortly for a game, and am going to the Vikings game tomorrow so it might be a while before fully setup.
I like it so far, however the remote isn't impressive, the least intuitive of the 3 receivers I've had recently.
Chopin, not sure if you have 7.1 or not, but if you do you need to go into Amp Setup in the menu, and change the setup to 7.1 rather than zone 2 or something...just FYI to save you some time maybe, took me a bit to figure it out, otherwise it doesn't let you setup the surround backs like the others.
