I'm not sure a disc player is optimal for streaming. I stream from an HTPC and the apps from my LG Oled TV. I seem to be able to grab any stream I want as far I'm concerned. As far as a universal player I now use a Sony Ultra HD player. That had a few bugs to start but corrected pretty quickly with software upgrades. I demoted my Oppo to the family room as it had a disagreement with my new system either the TV or the AVP, I don't know which. I also have the Panasonic DP-UB9000. Frankly that has been a PITA. A lot of software upgrades they did not tell you about. At the last one the unit would not complete turn on. I had to go on line to find out how to turn it on. I found there was a firmware update, which took forever to download. However for the first time the unit works as it should without glitches. This after five years. So I am unimpressed with that run around. This player is not universal as it won't play SACDs.

Personally I don't think you need to spend more than the Sony. It plays every disc well without complaint.

Finally bits are bits. If you are using an AVP or AVR for decoding, then all you need is a reliable disc transport. So I am not convinced a high end expensive player is required. What is really needed is a robust transport. So I regard my Sony as more than adequate replacement for my Oppo.

Wow! I just checked the price of that Magnetar. I have to say it is packed with audiophool nonsense. I personally would run fast away from a unit like that.
