Part of what got me thinking about it was that I found out that I can carry a sidearm at the state park where I walk Niki. I was think that I'd go with my .357 revolver, but I didn't think that I had any .357 ammo. I found a box of Winchester Supreme hollow points. Done.

I go through the Starbucks drive through and ask for a small regular coffee with cream and sugar. I didn't want to go through their menu encyclopedia for the right terms. The girl asks if I want something to eat with that. I say that I just want a small regular coffee with cream and sugar. She says that she got that but didn't want me to go hungry. Then she asks if I had any lunch yet ... I tell her no but all I want is a small regular coffee with cream and sugar. Then I get no response. I ask if I should pull up. Usually they tell ya something. The whole time I could hear her snickering and she was speaking to me in that annoying Date Line voice. I decided that I no longer wanted a small regular coffee with cream and sugar. I drove off. How does this happen to me?

First, it's heavy. Second, I think that it'll freak people out. Not that any other gun wouldn't freak them out. I should just get my concealed carry permit and be done with it.

I just want something in the rare chance that Niki and I end up in the middle of nowhere and some bad mofo of a mountain lion (or whatever) decides that it's go time. My hiking knife probably isn't going to do me much good. I have zero desire to actually hurt anything, but I'd rather hurt it than it hurt Niki. Well, or me, the selfish truth be told.
