We have different ways of looking at it. I figure that they got a chance to get it right twice. However I will say that some refurb computer speakers I bought had to be replaced once. Also to me it looks like a case of get this one and the Oppo is free! But the reality is that I would probably stay away from Denon because they employ people from the planet Zoltar to write their manuals. I'm still having MDS explain my DVD 1920 to me for crying out loud. I'm not suggesting that you should do anything, I'm just saying that I would be hankering for the Oppo and just use the 6 or 8 channel outs for audio. The rec'r would wait. You said you were looking for a corner stand for your 27"? How about this instead?

I've decided to put off the corner stand for now. I know that I won't use that TV, so I'm going to box it back up. If my parents stay with me when they come out for a couple of months, then I'll get a stand and put it in the master bedroom for them.

Just got back from playing league basketball (D league, only the best!). Is it considered a game when the game before ends with a score of approximately, and I'm not even exaggerating, 80 - 16? This made my team's win seem close at 85 - 51!

Yep, still have the original box. A related story. When I gave my old computer speakers from 1999 to my buddy, he later commended me on my anal repacking skills (there's definitely a joke in there). I had everything put back with the original twist-ties and bagged with the (I'm sure useless) desiccant packs.

I was disappointed to see today that the Denon 2809 went up $225 at Amazon to go back to $1199.

People who know me think I'm a freak for packing stuff away and I think they slobs for having an inch of dust on there unused stuff. Once again, to each his own.

It is $989.12 from 6ave through Amazon with free shipping, but what I think you should do is try the Name Your Own Price thing at 6ave and try something like $930 or $950 and see what happens.

EDIT: Nevermind, the Name Your Own Price thing ended at 12 EST...
