Arrggg, effing Walmart. I went there because the thing I wanted was $40 (the same as Amazon, but I'd have to pay tax here) on their website, and they were listed as in stock at my nearby store. I make the trip there, spend about 10 minutes finding them, and see that they are $55 in the store. Huh? So, I ask if the price is correct, and it was. I ask if they will match the price on the website. "No." Huh. "But, if it's listed for less on the website, you can have it shipped here for free." "But you won't match the price on one that's already here?" "No." I'll order it from Amazon.

I've had nothing but problems with Walmart and their ship to store. We ordered a TV from them, and it sat in a warehouse 2 hours away for more than a week. We got fed up and asked if we could just take the stock in the store, and they wouldn't let us because they were separate stocks. We got a few dollars off for our troubles, but I won't be ordering from them again.

Mind Astray...

So I was reading the "Car Porn", which naturally lead my mind to "speaker porn", which naturally lead my mind to the woofer scene in Howard Stern's "Private Parts", which naturally lead me to, well...that was it. Just thought I would share.

He f^%&in' failed, okay?

He's sometimes on my ignore list because of his unteachability.

A leads to B leads to C leads to D.

(A) My faucet-mounted water filter needs to be replaced. I don't have any new filters and would need to buy more, and the Pur filter holder is wearing out. I figure that I'll just order a new one for about $30.

(B) I start looking at new water filter holders. Reviews for the one that I own are pretty bad, and while mine has held up for a while, my experience with Pur faucet filters is that they start leaking after about a year (I'm on my fifth one). Plus, I have trouble washing pots and pans because the filter moves the nozzle down pretty low into the sink. So, I start looking at under-sink filters. The ones listed as being for "drinking" water use a separate little faucet. I don't have a spare hole for a faucet, but I have a hole where my sprayer handle is.

(C) I like my sprayer and don't want to loose it to add a filter faucet. Some new kitchen faucets have built-in sprayers, though, so I could remove the separate sprayer and put in a filter faucet. Hmmm.

(D) I just ordered a new kitchen faucet (with sprayer) and an under-sink water filtration system for about $315. During my search yesterday, I ordered a $60 shower filter.

So, $30 turned into $375. Oh, well. I sure hope that the new hardware fits. I'm also cleaning my kitchen sink, as it is nasty. I'm on my fourth application of CLR, and whatever the heck is on there is holding strong...but I'm starting to see kinks in the armor.

You probably think I quoted more than I intended but I didn't. I drilled my sink a new hole and now we're very happy. Those sprayer things are crap and when they sh!t the bed I don't want to have to replace a whole faucet. The water filtration system was like $160 to begin with but with me it stopped there. My shower head thing gets yanked every so often and soaked in a small plastic container full of bleach. I hate spending money on that stuff.

Well, the sink isn't clean, yet...but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Granted, that might just be a CLR-induced hallucination.

Operation Desert Kitchen is entering it's fourth hour. The CLR shock-and-awe attack on the sink wasn't as successful as hoped, but I am wittling away at the remaining layers of crud. The sink launched an unanticipated counterattack by ejecting some sort of sediment out of the faucet, and intelligence sources are still working on that one.

Yeah, probably. But, I was inspired to try one. I've been happy with my Moen fixtures, and I ordered that same brand. If it sucks, I'll send it back.
Excellent choice. I've had good service from my Moen products.

I am looking forward to Operation Dessert Kitchen.:)
