Netanyahu under the false guise of security has created a genocide of the Palestinian civilian populations and the western world has turned a blind eye to this.
Hezbollah also have extensive tunnel systems but are tunneled under the mountaineous regions of Lebanon.
2) I have never been in favor of the Ayatollah, but believe mre should have been done to prevent this war. However, Iran is responsible for far too many deaths and too much destruction over the last 5 decades via Hamas & Hezbollah and they had been sanctioned for that and the nuclear program.
The number deaths that Iran is responsible for pales to the death created by the US in the Vietnam, Korean, and Iraq wars and by the regional instability created by Israel. Before pointing to Iran, take a long look at US history.
3) Keep looking into the opinions of the people WRT the leadership- you saw masses of people, that doesn't show the whole population, which has reached 80 million.

As for Iran blowing up international shipping, blame Trump who signed the MOU that clearly states that Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz and will have to adhere to protocols dictated by the Iranian Strait Authority. All ships that tried to sneak through with transponders off and via the channel by Oman (with encouragement by the US administration and promises of protection) were targeted and hit.
