Really Boring Stuff Only III: Resurrection

It's easier if you eliminate the rod and the line – no snags, no fuss. Just drink and throw lures in the water.
You mean like the time I was a kid, floating down the river in a jonboat, drinking moonshine, went to cast and threw my whole rod & reel into the river? Fished the rest of the trip with a line tied on to a stick. It was a great day!

I take it you don't fish? I've been thinking about this and I can explain it. The allure of fishing is that when it's done right, there are no other concerns. Your focus is on the scenario being played out under water, where you can't see, so it's kind of only going on in your head and the objective is singular; putting that fish where he don't wanna be, in air. So there's a challenge as well.

That's right, I don't fish. Years ago I went through a phase where I thought I would like it. It was frustrating more than anything else. I was with some friends who fished a lot, and I couldn't understand why my lines got snagged and theirs didn't. Those shiny lures were fun to play with, until I realized I was just throwing them into the water.

Instead of feasting on fresh fish, I was fresh blood for all the insects.

I like your version of fishing much better than what I experienced. I guess, I wasn't really all that interested in learning the finer points.

Right. Fishing is like golf. To those who have never seriously done it, it appears quite boring. It is only after you've given it a serious attempt that you understand how much of a mental game it is, in addition to the physical skill. (Ever tried to cast to a 6" target at 20 yards from a rocking boat? Ever tried casting 2,000 times in an afternoon?) There are variables to consider that the pedestrian cannot imagine.

That being said, at an amateur level it can be a most interesting, rewarding, peaceful and relaxing activity... if you let it.

You? Pray tell.
Oh, I just blatantly violated the classifieds rules. I "bumped" my threads a few times (once per thread not multiple times per thread) with price changes and I added a video to the UXL listing. This heaneous behavior earned me a 5 day ban and this message:

"Banned: Bumping classified ad. Warned with no effort to comply." Or something like that. In any case the AVS policy can suck a bag of d!cks :D

Fofo inspection. The non reputable foreign guy on the corner would have let it go but the regular white bread American that shares a shop with a glass guy (I needed a windshield) picked up on an exhaust leak that's gonna be another $150 - $200 to fix. I guess I don't want carbon monoxide being released right under the car so yeah, go Team USA.

Still better than 4 or 5 hundred a month for forever. It's got over 220k miles. Do you guys think I should get the racing spark plugs or just stick with stock? Tuned exhaust? A wing? :D

You can't have cleared codes in Mass? Around here if you got a check engine you just clear the codes and drive around town for a while to reset enough of the sensors to pass.

Ridiculous.. I got a warning for a one time bump.
What's the big deal anyway ??

From AVS

Do not "bump" your thread to move in front of other sellers. Instead, you are to edit the first post when you need to make changes or your item sells.

Apparently moving in front of new sellers or new posts is the issue. However, allowing your original post to drift 10 pages deep is acceptable I guess. F@#$ers. They used to have the button that allowed you to bump your thread, but it only allowed you to do that every so many days. That made sense. This not so much.

What's going on in last few week, It was mostly quiet for a while, but lately either our 5-0 is slacking, or trolls getting fancier, but I added more people to ignore list in last few weeks than in last year or so...
Schools are not out yet. It's not a xmas/bonus time...

Or is it just me getting too close to big four oh and getting old and cranky ?
