Well folks, here it is. Since adding the traps, I've lost my living room...Now I live in an acoustic bubble! :D

I like it! It's very clean. The only thing I would do would be to add fancy-looking cables and some techflex behind the rack for a more organized look. Other than that, it's beautiful.

Mission's Elegante range. Mine are the e82's. I have the 5.1 package, though 9.1 will be a reality one day. :)

Here is a breakdown of my system for all interested (in order of importance ;))

RealTrap acoustic absorption

Mission Elegante 5.1 range comprising:
e82 towers
e8c centre
e80 surrounds
e8as1 sub

Yamaha DSP-Z9 A/V amplifier

Yamaha S2500 Universal player

Nice system, Buckle. Very professional looking. Now we need a shot of you in your leather recliner, sipping champaigne. ;)

We don't see too many Mission speakers here in the states. That's a UK company, right?

Champagne? Is that French for Whisky?

It is, or English to be exact. Ever since I saw the 753's many years ago, I always fancied a pair of Missions. I love their narrow yet deep profile. They are, quite literally, elegant.

I think it'd be a glass of Single Malt on the rocks personally. At least judging by his country of origin...

Good show, Buckle! This is mighty elegant stuff...and beautiful. I'm jealous!! Are you sure it's really yours? LOL.

Those are the prettiest speakers I think I've ever seen. (And they go so well with the floor.....:) )

Those are the sexiest speakers I've seen in my limited time here!;)

Yes, they do make some good looking speakers.

You definitely could use some prettier cables to dress it all up. If only the cable manufacturers would actually ADMIT it's jewelry and not to improve the sound - but oh well. :)

What about river cable? Hm? They're pretty.

The sub sits behind the couch. Not that it's ugly; all the speakers have curved sides and a lacquer finish and the sub has rounded corners, but with it being a non-elegant shaped box, I prefer it out of sight.

As for the screen, at present I project upon the front wall. At the time I splurged on the system, I was already stretching my budget and figured the screen could wait. Besides, the flat is rented, so not knowing what size my own living room will one day be, I couldn't have sized a screen accurately anyway.

Regards :)

Just for you Sheep: :)

The sub has a down-firing 10" driver with two 10" passive drivers firing out of opposing sides.

I have a sub that could be what that sub is, but it isn't.

That sub reminds me of the Earthquakes and Sunfires. It appears to be ~ 13x13x13. Nice and compact. It's too bad it's out of sight - as pretty as it is. ;)

Do the drivers go into "convulsions" when pushed? That's all I remember of a tiny Sunfire the last time I demo'd one. The excursion was amazing.

Oh, Oh, Oh. Those are the best looking speakers I have ever seen. Those should be linked to the audio porn thread. Absolutely Beautiful.;)

(shakes his head) Oh Buckeyefan 1. Really.

To be honest, I couldn't tell you. I've only a couple of times felt the main driver during particularly bass intensive pieces of a DVD. The Matrix Reloaded springs to mind where near the end, the film cuts from the Key-Maker decribing how to overcome all the security systems of a building to the window panes of a skyscraper cracking. The first time I heard those panels cracking I thought I must be hammering my sub, so I replayed the piece and felt the driver. It was only vibrating; no significant excursion at all. Since then, I tend not to worry about it. For reference, I tend to listen to DVDs with my volume set between -10 and -15dB.

Update:  I've just played 'the Darla scene' from Finding Nemo (known I believe to punish subs). I know this sounds like I am bragging, but honestly, nope. Still nothing I would call excessive. :)

$5990.00 to $9990.00 Ouch! Where does your system fall into this?
Duffinator's first link has the RRP spot-on. Using todays exchange rate of 1.771 against £3490 gives $6180. Plus stands for the surrounds at 1.771 times £200 gives $354, and a total of US$6534, though I paid less since I bought my entire system at the same time. ;)
