F Frank55 Audiophyte Feb 24, 2026 #4 I have 2 boxes inherited to me each need work. My budget doesn't allow me to shop at this moment. Not a big Home theater kind of guy, but i do like. My speakers are diy so trying to just replace the parts. Thanks

Yeah, I inherited the original boxes, and no, they do not need to fit exactly. I can resize the opening to fit a new amp. Original BOSTON ACOUSTICS PV600 amp will be most appreciated. The second box i will hunt down a woofer also. Maybe P.E. also.

I have very rudimentary software to decide the best woofer to fit each of the boxes. It's power and connectivity are my concerns. I'm old school and the vintage receiver I have doesn't have a dedicated "sub-out" feature. My YAMAHA HT does have this feature but i also have 2 channel audio in my another room.
