Pioneer SC - 71 issues with sound

I have this weird issue going on with Fire TV Stick. My setup is

Pioneer SC - 71 - HDMI out 1 connected to Epson Home Cinema 5030UB projector
Amazon fire stick 4k max (latest one) connected to INPUT 2 (SAT/CBL)
Out put for sound from SC-71 are wired connections to B&W speakers with a 7.2 setup

Issue:
After a lot of trial and error i figured out the issue
I have to keep the projector in off mode then turn the SC - 71 on and select the input as HDM1 2 and it displays L R as the speaker
Since the projector is turned off I am getting the sound which is coming from the Amazon fire stick 4k max through my speakers (obviously i cannot see the picture)
The moment i turn the projector on the sound goes away video obviously is there
Also for some reason SC - 71 changes the Input from Input 2 (SAT/CABL) to Input 2 (DVR/BDR) on projector start up and now I have to change the Input back to Input 2 (SAT/CABL) to see the Amazon fire stick 4k max video obviously the audio is gone and in SC-71 the display of speaker L R is gone as well.

I have spend days on this now and very frustrating if any one can help really appreciate that

There will be HDMI spec issues here because the Fire Stick 4K supports 4K @60Hz while the receiver supports up to 4K @30Hz and the projector just HD 1080p.

To avoid issues, set the output resolution of the Fire Stick to 1080p. You can also set the output resolution of the receiver to 1080p in its settings.

Some new 4K devices will take issue with older HD devices supporting older HDMI and HDCP specs. Auto settings all around may not work and manual settings in each device to match a lower specced receiver, TV or projector may be needed for everything to work.

Thanks for the reply, now I am figuring out where i can change those setting. I have played around with the settings a lot in both those devices and cant seem to figure out where those changes can be made. If you happen to know please share.

Don't know about your avr particularly, but in the fire stick go to settings (far right on the menu bar) and open display and sounds--display--video resolution

I tired adjusting this settings as well. No sound still coming out. Obviously if i turn the projector off then the sound comes

Have you moved the Firestick to another port on the receiver to see if this behavior is constant on different ports?

Yes I have tried multiple HDMI ports (Input 1, input 5 etc). the moment projector is turned on the audio gets cutoff the speaker (L R )icon in the SC-71 goes away. Tried all the setting in vidoe parameter like Vconv off/on Res 1080p 1080i, 720 p etc.

question this has nothing to do with any projector settings correct? (Epson Home Cinema 5030UB projector)

I still suspect HDCP spec differences as the issue. When getting picture but no sound, what is the video output information reported by the Firestick? What is reported by the receiver? Projector?

Firestick I changed it to 1080p from auto
Receiver I changed it to 1080p from auto

I will also upload some images of my SC-71 front panel display.
What I wanted you to see is, how the speaker icons displays on my SC-71 front panel display when the projector is off. And then when I turn the projector on how it goes away.

One other thing I have noticed is how firestick keep switching the display to auto from the 1080p every time I restart the firestick.

Tried HDMI link on my projector remote again no luck. See the 2 attached images
1. When the projector is off (you can see the R L speakers)
2. When the projector is on (R L speakers are missing)

Again the V conv is on and RES is 1080p
Firestick Display is 1080p
Projector info shows 1080p

Fire TV settings differ a bit using Stick vs Cube, but check your settings and disable HDR if there is a setting for it. HDR can be output using 1080p but you want it OFF here. Just have to try and select the correct combination of settings for audio and video to be out correctly using this combination of devices.

I maintain the best and most reliable streamers are computers. I fail to understand why people are so enamored of these miserable streaming devices. Never used one and never will.

I use several firesticks, with a few different older avrs/tvs. No general issues, but mine are older (pre 4k ones, a couple that are HD models and two of the previous version). Putting a computer in my systems I've thought about but more work than benefit.

It may well be the Firestick, but not because it is a hunt and peck device. Most apps are optimized for streaming devices such as the Firestick. Things get complicated when connecting to, not one, but two other devices with lower video specs.
