The shutters were installed this weekend. I can watch TV during the day now without glare.One of the pictures show how much light the shutters block. This is in the middle of the day. I have ordered a Sanus Woodbrook cabinet for the components. I only have the bare minimum in here for now. I have Axiom speakers all round accept for one of the subs is a Infinity. There is a sub on each side of the couch. More pictures after the component furniture is here. The room looks real nice with the shutters. And the nice thing like you mentioned is it keep all the light out.

Man this stand is pretty nice. Especially compared to the TV trays! I also finished hooking up the Bass shakers in the couch. Those things are pretty cool. I hooked up my dish receiver to the TV and put all the components in the cabinet. There is a oppo DVD,DIsh receiver, 2 Yamaha receivers (one for the Bass shakers), and a 8 port network switch. I know you have already said that your space is limited but im sure there has got to be a way. You will probably notice a big difference in the front sound stage if you find a way to move them apart. Yep, I have an old Yamaha receiver maybe 10 years old that the Bass shakers are hooked to. The only problem I need to solve is that my new receivers remote works with the old receiver to. I need to be able to control them seperately. As far as seperating the speakers. I am in a tough spot. I just don't have a solution that passes the WAF test. After using the YPAO to set the speakers if you look at the response waveform for the left speaker it is pretty flat. The response for the right speaker is much more wavey. I figure it is caused by either the brick or because it is located in a small corner where the fireplace (backside of the fireplace actually) protrudes out of the wall. Do you think some of the wall treatment/absorption panel stuff hung over the brick would help? I know it is probably hard to say. Thanks for checking it out.

I realize you are really pressed for space but I have been thinking and maybe reorienting the room so the display and speakers are on the short wall and the two love seats along the long wall and away from the rear wall. Hard to tell without a photo of the entire room. I do not know if you own or rent, but investing in rewiring to get the speakers further apart would be well worth the effort. Even if you had to leave the wiring behind if you moved. There are some neat solutions that look like baseboards that might do the trick. You may still have to put some holes in the wall to go over the doorways but I think it would be worth it. Room layout is just as important as equipment selection. Good luck and enjoy your new toys.

It's just that I put so much time and effort into cleaning up the wall/ceiling etc.. and wiring everything in the house to terminate where it is at that I am completely worn out. Maybe sometime later in the year. That being said. Although my sound stage is narrow. When you sit on the couch directly across from the equipment it sounds amazing. It is just that the sound changes alot as you move away from this area. Here are a couple pics of my latest retro addition. I inherited this turntable. The grease had all dried up so I took it apart, cleaned and regreased everything. Then bought the best needle I could afford which was a Grado. Having some fun with it.
