Owning Multiple Speakers Is Nice

Good for you. I hope they meet your expectations.
They do; I think they look better than some $60K/pr speakers. ;) :D

Did you know they have wheels under the base? Makes it easy to roll around. And they weight 176lbs, not 300lbs.

Plus they have diamond tweeters. Should I buy some Kimber Kables? :D

The most amusing thing about Kimber, IMHO, is that if you go to their web site the most prominent thing on their home page is a warning about counterfeit cables.

I would rate them above, say, Audioquest, but Kimber still touts "specially optimized copper" for their power cords. I still like Blue Jeans and Belden better.

I guess counterfeit and knockoff cables just don't sound as fast or chocolaty or punchy bass. :D

I think there is a factory in China that makes the Kimber Kable and people buy it off the spool from the factory and sell it. I've got a buddy in Hong Kong and will get him to check if he can get me some Kember Kayble.

I think that is the knockoff KK cables which are from Hong Kong and China. From what I have been told and Kimber states it on their site, Kimber Kables are made in the US.

Anyway, I could never tell any difference between Kimber speaker cables and my Blue Jean cables.

All kidding aside Mr. 2%'er ;) :p , I agree with you about the honeymoon phase with new gear. I've had my Sierra-1's for a little over a year now, and while I enjoy them, I am starting to get the itch to upgrade to something with a little more efficiency, a little more imposing (they just look puny next to my Submersive )
All I know is that into a year with my Statements I still have a big grin plastered across my face. What ever itch I had seems to have been definitely scratched.

I've had zero desire to get anything else. I'm ruined for the foreseeable future.

while i would love to make fun of you, ADTG (for your obvious sickness) - i think i may be in a similar boat here. i fell in love, unfortunately, with the new focal utopia line. which cost as much as ocelot lips gloves unfortunately. so as i pondered my future HT (way, WAY down the road), i was wondering if i could somehow swing even the cheapest of floorstanders - the viva, which i have heard, and love, and is $25,000 a pair :eek::eek::eek:
$25,000 for this...

or $30,000 for this...

so, i have been browsing agon, and utopia's do show up every once in a while. but even used, probably out of my price range. should i someday ditch my salks, which i also love? and save for years, i mean we buy cars and that costs $25K right? ahh, probably all for naught.
Speakers on financing :D

Exactly. I used to be into cars. But eventually I thought, "Why do that when I spend about 20 minutes a day total inside my car?"

My brothers and sister would rather spend money on fancy luxury vehicles. The P362 is about as expenisve as they would ever spend on speakers. One of my colleagues just traded in her Lexus LX470 for a new Porsche Cayenne, which she will spend about 30 minutes inside total per day.

Everyone has his or her thing. Ours is audio. Others think we are stupid for
I work from home. If I waited I would go 6-8 months between oil changes for 3K miles to roll by. I'm actually a bit depressed and also happy that I don't know when I am going to get another vehicle.

I want an Ariel Atom.

I understand, as I generally feel the same way about the Salon 2s. The only problem is that ADTG made me wonder with the Phil 3, but I think I'm past that.

The Statements remind me of Dunlavys, but without the time coherence stuff. Interesting that you think the sweet spot is pretty wide, and with the Dunlavys you had to hold your head in a vice, so to speak. Probably driver differences, I would guess.

The Focal Utopias are very interesting. I know someone with one of the larger versions. (I can't remember the model.) The problem is that IMHO the Salon 2s sounded just as good, if not better, and the actual sale price was two-thirds less.

i too think the philharmonics may sound better than the Scala Utopias I heard, but the focals look so damn cool

Good. You should be past all that. All speakers have compromises. Some folks may prefer certain aspects of one speaker over another. The Salon2 has less compromises and more strengths than most speakers.

The sweet spot isn't football field wide but it also doesn't easily collapse. Were the Dunlavys a dipol-esq like the Statements with their open back mids?

You've got the ported Statements right? If I could ever improve the housing situation, I'd definitely consider a pair those, preferably sealed. A pair of those with JBL W15GTi's as bass bins + a MiniDSP could cure a lot of my speaker upgrade-itis. :D

No. A big sealed box. Here's a pic of the SC-Vs, which I came *this close* to buying some years back:
