Overheating issues with my Sony STR-DH590!

I’m currently experiencing issues with my Sony stereo receiver. My current setup is 6-way Klipsch speakers (two front L&RS, two back L&Rs, a center and a sub!) and a turntable running through a Pyle preamp. This has been my setup for over a year, literally I have not changed a thing! It’s been running great with no issues, until recently. My Sony has been overheating, quickly (like within 15-20 minutes of running it will enter PROTECT!) This is very abnormal!! And again I have NOT changed anything in my setup! I reconnected all my speakers and turntable, I haven’t had it on in a few days but it still gains heat fairly quickly! I have no idea what to do or how to remedy any further then what I’ve read on the internet. Please help!

Get a better receiver.
Thats a 300 dollar brand new bottom of the line unit.
Even though it has the ability to be hooked up as you have it, that doesnt mean its good at doing so...especially if you like to push the volume.
If it's going into protect...scrap it. It's not worth fixing. Or send it back if its still in warranty.

As a test, run it in stereo and see if it shuts down.

Does it overheat if you disconnect the speakers? If it does the unit is done. If it does not connect speakers one at a time and see if you have a speaker problem. I suspect the Sony is done for. You can not build a decent receiver for anything close to that price.

I would take TLS Guy's approach first. Is the unit still under warranty?
