I was offered a Sony Lcd rear projection and stand for a killer price. I may purchase it but that depends on a few things. The model is a Sony KF-42WE620.

It does not have HDMI but it has DVI. Should a blu-ray player then work with this TV? Today I tried hooking the blu-ray up via component cables and it did not work.

As far as image quality goes, I'm guessing it will look pretty good. It does not do 1080p but it does do 1080i.

As far as buying a new TV, isn't it better today that is has ever been? Is there good reason to hold off for a year or two? I'm guessing that blu-ray2 or some new HD format higher than 1080p won't go mainstream for a while.

Go to Bluejeans and get a HDMI to DVI cable and it should work from the BD player. The player obviously also has to be set to 1080i or Auto.

The bulb probably costs more than the TV at that price.

$350 w/ stand. It has hardly been used.
according to who? Those series sonys once the bulb has minamal hour need replacement. As the bulb looses Ftl, it off axis viewning is horrid, I mean serious crap. No in the kitchen whatching the living room tv. No standing up a parties a watching the tv. Id double your budget and get a 42" panny plasma, cause with the bulb your almost there;)BTW those bulbs are rated at 8-10 thousand hours full life, so 4-5 half life check the service menu for the hours

1. Turn television off
2. Select display on the remote
3. Select the volume up key on the remote
4. Turn the television on

I don't yet have a HDMI-DVI adapter. It's all I am wondering is whether blu-ray is compatible or not?
