Seriously, I have no life.
They had to have been hatched or something because I can't see anyone willingly carrying something as vile as pelosi or as stupid as gore to full term. They are certainly a good argument for abortion.
I thought they used live-incubators, kind of like a breeding tank for fish.

Re: Gore- with the liklihood of him becoming the first environmental billionaire, he seems to be 'stupid, like a fox', as Homer would say. I'm still pissed that he got the Nobel, over the woman who smuggled 2500 infants out of Poland during WWII. Personally, I think a veterinarian should have gotten it, rather than him.

do you think calling someone by a made-up name intended to be insulting says bad things about the subject or the speaker?
Neither, it says what I think about him, and I think he is a douche bag. Last I checked we are still entitled to an opinion in this country. However, with the current regime we might lose even that freedom.

p.s. and using a teleprompter either to talk to school children or the press is equally as lame. What is funny is how all the libs were scrambling to say they were not used for the children and somehow thought using them for the press was better. All he did is mis the doggy doodoo with the left foot and stepped in it with the right.

Actually, liberals only believe in free speech if it is speech they agree with.

Which explains why it is only a repubilcan administration that restricted people to "free speech zones"?

It's simple to spout rhetoric: but you have no statistic to back up that claim.

I'm glad to hear you say that. My opinion is that people resort to name calling when they have no valid assertion / argument. It's rhetoric designed to appeal to emotion for the purpose of bypassing reason.

Huh? Who hasn't used a teleprompter?

“There Ohio was right out in front, right in front of me, The teleprompter got messed up, I couldn’t follow it, and I just decided I’d just talk to the people in front of me. It was Ohio.” - Sarah Palin, of a 2008 CO fundraiser.

(ironically: it later turned out that the teleprompter had not failed, but that's not my point)

I'm sure she usually uses a teleprompter for speeches, and I don't criticize her for that. That was just the first example Google gave me. Would you like me to pull out Bush, or Reagan using a teleprompter? Perhaps Lincoln bring his speech to Ghetysberg on a pice of paper and reading from that?

*everyone* uses a teleprompter for speeches. That's why they exist.

What's funny is how the cons are scrambling to distract from the fact that, again, they are basing arguments on faulty facts.

Some people are good at speaking without a script, some obviously aren't but it seems that everything I have seen him do or say has been scripted for him, not necessarily by him. It's not the most important part of being President, but being in control of oneself and being able to communicate well are two of the major traits of a good leader. I had never seen that Obama had made any kind of speech from the school and if they brought the kids in afterward, fine, but I think the media should have made that clear whether liberal or conservative. I don't read or listen to media at the extremes, so I don't care what they say. The photos I saw had him at a teleprompter while the kids were there and it really seemed odd. The only thing that would have been more odd would be if the kids were the only ones beside him and he was flanked by several Secret Service agents in their usual attire.

It's parallel arguments like this one that have taken over our government that is the reason the federal (and my own California state) government can't get anything done-too many people are preoccupied with the inane and irrelevant, possibly because they can't (or don't want to make the effort to) understand the complexities of the real problems that remain unresolved or because they are out for revenge because "their" candidate or party lost or got dissed or got filibustered or (fill in your favorite complaint) by the other. Frankly, I don't give a rat's a** about who used a teleprompter and who didn't-does that really determine the direction of much more important issues that really need to be addressed, like health care reform and jobs creation? I guess it's much easier to argue about someone's hair color or their mangling of the English language or other such useless trivia-it's the lowest common denominator approach to debate, in which everyone can join in and throw rocks at each other. I'm so sick of the noise level of these stupid debates over nothing that keep drowning out constructive discussions that could produce real progress; instead, all that is produced is hard feelings and polarized opinions. There's always more than enough blame to go around, but what's the point if nothing but assigning blame ever gets accomplished?

Here's one:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jan/20/barack-obama-inauguration-us-speech

Obama didn't get to the Illinois Senate or the White House purely on his own- he has been guided since before he got into Harvard with grades that don't usually gain admission there. The people he was involved with in Chicago had/have a different agenda from the rest of the country and Obama was the perfect person to use as their public face. He has no practical job experience, yet he says he's in touch with most Americans. How can this be?

Don't get me wrong- very few Presidents write their own speeches because they don't have time for many drafts and revisions. If someone can find a writer who can come up with speeches that the person agrees with, it's a great thing.

I only have one thing to say to you. If you actually thought that I was serious about her being green with the hand note thing then you are not only clueless you have no sense of humor either. The joke is on you my friend.
Good job addressing every point I made.

Jerry, we've discussed this in other thread. Seriously, stop resorting to logic and facts when dealing with certain people. Just face-palm yourself and call it quits. :D

people resort to name calling when they have no valid assertion / argument. It's rhetoric designed to appeal to emotion for the purpose of bypassing reason.
So basically, what you're saying is people that do that are still intellectually trapped in grammar school? AGREED. :D

too many people are preoccupied with the inane and irrelevant, possibly because they can't (or don't want to make the effort to) understand the complexities of the real problems that remain unresolved or because they are out for revenge because "their" candidate or party lost or got dissed or got filibustered or (fill in your favorite complaint) by the other.
That's the reality of humanity. Typically, people would rather point fingers than lift a hand. People will always exist that are willingly oblivious to the plights of others and are only concerned with self-serving agendas. That way of life isn't exclusive to one political party or economic class or ethnicity or gender or religion or sexual orientation.

Just so I understand this thread and it's subsequent posts::confused::)

Here we have a group that's too smart to be duped by phony speaker wire claims, or other forms of snake oil.
Though on the other hand, they seem to duped by media and political snake oil. Duped as to why the media keeps this women in the spotlight.

They also seem to take issue, or are surprised to hear that a mother is defending her young.
Is there anyone here that wouldn't jump to the defense of their mother, daughter, or their child?

Then it devolves into who's reading from a teleprompter or from notes.....come on guys...I'd like to think you're smarter than that.

Jamie, I always had foreseen this thread going to wonderful places with Palin in the thread title. It hasn't disappointed.;)
