You might not agree with Obama policies but he is certainly not a moron. I would give that title to Sarah though. If she runs for president, she might have to start applying anti-perspirant on the palms of her hands. :D :p
Sorry but he is. Anyone who has to use a teleprompter to speak to a class of sixth graders is a moron. Palin had three little notes on her palm which is something that any idiot who has ever taken a public speaking course knows is normal. Everyone needs some sort of reminder to themselves to make sure they don't forget something because it is real easy to do when you are in front of a crowd. Some use index cards, a sheet of bullet points, ect. Even a trained actor like Reagan used reminder notes.

Maybe Palin should invite Seth Mcdouche bag to go caribou hunting:p

I don't think she'll be able to pull off the "I accidentally shot him" as well as Cheney did though, since she's a self proclaimed huntress and all.;)

Maybe you should go hunting with Cheney:D Whenever politics come up, I recommend this site. Pretty fair at figuring out the facts from the BS (which is endemic in both parties).

Of course, most people live by ideology not facts.

Why not just have a few notes written on a small piece of paper. It is standard practice for public speaking rather than writing the nonsense she spews on her hands.

Why do you care how or where she writes her notes? Why do libs always think everyone has to do things their way or else it is the wrong way? How about she is being green and not using paper and the ink she used is non toxic to the environment when she washes it off her hands? How about that?

Hmm, Stronger America, lower taxes, less government control, drill our own country for oil, clean coal, nuclear power plants like France has. Yep that is all just a bunch of nonsense.

I just see it as unprofessional and amateurish for someone in her occupation to conduct a speech in that way.

I disagree totally, and actually only to have three little notes and give a whole speech is pretty darn good. I know I don't have that good a memory. I would not need a teleprompter like the usurper, but I would have several sheets of bullet points.

Seriously, I have no life.

So, a President should need a teleprompter for every public speaking engagement? C'mon! For sixth graders? That's absurd and I don't care which party the person is affiliated with. Past Presidents used notes on paper, or note cards. Does using a teleprompter make him seem more sincere because he doesn't need to look down? I don't think so.

Sorry but that's a load of crap and you know it. She wants to basically turn parts of Alaska's wilderness into swiss cheese for oil but she cares about one scrap of paper?

Stronger America
Based on whose standard of strength? I don't equal military superiority and a far less educated youth base to be qualities of a strong nation.

lower taxes
By cutting funding to long term benefits. For example, Governor Christie chopping public school funding in NJ as one of his first acts in office. Good idea, let's make sure our lower class citizens have even less access to opportunities that would make them productive members of society. As long as the collective wallets of the middle and upper class don't get lighter, it's perfectly fine. Making the poor citizens even poorer has worked so many times in human history.

less government control
You mean less government control of private sector companies. Yes, we should regulate them even less. Most companies act in the best interest of mankind. That's why CEOs and shareholders have volunteered their 7 figure incomes to each save a few thousand jobs at their companies. Oh, wait... nevermind...

drill our own country for oil
What happened to the earlier comment on "going green" by saving a sheet of paper? I don't care what political party someone claims, being a hypocrit is being a hypocrit.

clean coal
CleanER coal. No such thing as clean coal. Burning a fossil fuel can never be clean. It's a bandaid to a gunshot wound. And I can see it now, "It's snowing where you live, global warming is a sham!" How amusing...

nuclear power plants like France has.
But I thought those damn liberal psuedo-socialist froggies can't get anything right.

For the record, I'm no fan of any politician or party. I simply ask people to think beyond their beliefs and borders. The problem is, many people don't think beyond their borders. They say "If it doesn't directly affect me, it isn't my problem."

Ad for Palin, how was it an insult or joke at the expense of a child suffering from DS? I don't see how a show can apologize for stating THE TRUTH. The kid has DS, and she parades it around like she's a champion for the fight against DS. WHERE IS THE INSULT?

So, a President should need a teleprompter for every public speaking engagement?.

Bush used a teleprompter. Clinton used a teleprompter. Bush Sr. used a teleprompter.

Why have people forgotten this?

Also: Obama did not use a teleprompter to talk to elementary students. It just didn't happen. LINK

He used the teleprompter for a major speech (like nearly all politicians and all recent Presidents) that day, and then talked to the students, no teleprompter.

Facts get in the way of ideology. No offense, but it makes those that propogate these type of things look stupid.

January 26, 2010

Here at FactCheck.org, we’ve seen our share of fake photos of President Obama. So we were suspicious when a reader e-mailed us a silly-looking photo of the president speaking in a grade-school classroom with teleprompter, podium and presidential seal. The photo is so silly, in fact, that it was the butt of a late-night comedian’s ridicule. But this picture is real.

Photo

The White House video of this event prompted Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart to ask incredulously, "You set up a teleprompter in a 6th grade classroom?" Well, yes, he did, bringing to mind such famous photo-op flops as Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis’ tank ride in 1988 and Republican President George W. Bush’s "Mission Accomplished" banner.

But Obama wasn’t actually giving a speech to 6th graders at the time, as incorrectly stated in the headline on the photo that was e-mailed to us, and in many conservative blogs. The picture (taken by Associated Press photographer Alex Brandon) actually shows Obama speaking to reporters in a classroom at the Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va., on Jan. 19. Obama had spoken to the students themselves earlier, and he did not use a teleprompter then. This photo from the official White House blog shows that clearly.

So what say you who brought this up? Do facts matter? Probably not.
