I think the lesson I learned is "wait and see" after Russell Wilson at Seattle. The read option was fun to watch, but it also highlighted his shortcomings as a qb: he really isn't good in the pocket. I wouldn't quite put the LOB at the top because their pass rush wasn't say the mid-80s Bears. If anything I thought it was Pete's eye for athleticism. They had some of the best athletes I've seen. I think it was mostly Pete, LOB, and Beast. 3-4 years straight as the #1 defense, and the last year were #2 or 3. Personal favorite was the crazy NFC Championship where Wilson was abysmal vs GB. There were a handful of things that had to go wrong for GB to lose, and did.....

Overaggressive corner that led to the fake FG TD.
4th & 1 at the 1 and McCarthy opting a FG
Fourth INT and the DB took a knee instead of running what looked like about 20 yds downfield.
Not having a hands specialist on Seattle's onside kick
Wilson scrambling backwards on the 2 pt conversion and throwing it up to the other side of the end zone and completing it.

Some real head scratchers there. I think that was when I lost a lot of regard for McCarthy when he said to the press points were hard to come by on 4th &1. Wilson and 99 yds to go. It's a no-brainer.

A shame it never turned into a dynasty, but Seattle's athleticism, especially defensively, is what I remember most.

Tom Brady, Malcolm Butler et al prevented the repeat and possible dynasty. Greatest Superbowl ever IMO and the best game I’ve ever attended. The Pats just celebrated that team at the home opener. Malcolm Butler was the bell ringer to kickoff the pregame. Glory days.

Yeah I think that's give Beast three tries at the 1 yd line. Pete overthought that one. Dumbest play call in the history of the SB. Plus a slant inward at the goal line is strange.
