Anyone have any inside info on the new Seismic subs that should be coming out soon? Seems like these might be a replacement for the Defiance X subs, but a little further up in the line in regards to features and quality.

I’m very interested to see more.

looks endgame . Or atleast really good, do the special art surrounds make it perform better?
I can’t find any information on it. I don’t expect to be able to afford one , Doubtful I’d be aloud another big sub Even if I could.
I’d expect it to cost more than the Martin Logan grotto, but who knows ?

Defiance X 15 was 91 pounds or so . Prob about same or slightly more than my current sub, that I had to slide I can no longer lift it.
Paradigm Seismic will probably be heavier , but do passives soud better than ported?
I’d definitely want a passive radiator sub someday . The def tech 15 was 115 pounds or more, and the grotto.

From what I’ve been able to piece together, it sounds like they may be lower in price than the XR subs but more than the Defiance X. I’m currently running an X15 and it’s great, but appearance wise it’s definitely spartan. Its size also limits placement a bit.

These might help there. I think they may also have wireless built in, which would be great for placement. The dual passive radiators is also an interesting design. I really want to hear them, LOL!

My Epik Empire dual 15" was 120lbs and a PITA to move.

What do you mean by spartan??it’s probably more compact than what I’m using and it’s ported . Although I wouldn’t expect X15 to be much louder than a stereo integrity atleast my ht version has a lot of weight to the bass. It’s probably less Xmax too . It’s Got a fancier amp though and room correction.
I could had got the 1k w version but my driver supposedly only handles around 600rms.
Costed $2k , now $500 more than this review . Looks great to me .

Spartan purely from an aesthetics point of view. It functions fine, but it’s just a big plain box. There are definitely nicer looking cabinets out there.

I had a Studio Sub 12 (sealed) before the X15 and while I did prefer it for music, the X15 trounces it for HT and overall SPL, as it should being a 15 inch ported sub.

yeah it takes an epic 12 to beat a 15.
Probably two if similar power. Although the Rsl 12 box is huge for that size .

Yeah but glossy finish is an extra $100+ or more for brands like svs . Which is what I wanted my diy to look like . But I never got to finish the top and it got scratched to hell , still in need or repair . …
Had to fix a tower speakers leg…
Weird idea take it to a freinds house so my new speakers could get cosmetic damaged.(mostly the sub ) no package meterials supplied . A few months with no system , ..3-6 I can’t remember.
I don’t know if my parents thought he would buy my system or why they hated my speakers. When they can afford better yet opt for tv speakers .

Depending on the price, I could see myself looking at a couple of 12s to replace the X15. I highly doubt I would run into not having enough output in my room, but with the smaller size I could probably position them to get more even bass at the listening positions. Possibly an upgrade for music as well.

I’ve been lucky in that my speakers are all still in pretty good shape, even though my mains are over 15 years old. I tend to hang onto to stuff so figure if I’m going to buy something new, it should be something I can be happy looking at for over a decade, LOL.

Also seriously considering upgrading to some Founders in that azure ice colour. They just look bloody amazing to me.

what are you using now ? I wish I could get something endgame even the paradigm premier 800f look nice. The cheapest Founders are 2k each . I got no issue using my Klipsch til they start going bad, I’m already in the negative financially right now. Not sure what repair would cost . One of my surrounds has static so I put it in the basement unused now.

I’ve got first gen B&W 703s with the matching HTM7 channel. I don’t remember exactly when I bought them, but it’s got to be creeping up on 19 or 20 years ago now. They can be a bit aggressive on top on some recordings but they’ve served me well and don’t owe me anything. I’ve had the urge to upgrade a few times but could never really justify it.

I had Paradigm Studio 60s and 80s when I was younger and really loved them. I suspect the next set of speakers I buy might be my last.

Nice those have multiple different tiers . Cost similar to the Paradigm .. might as well get them while you can afford them prices keep going up. I can’t dream of affording These .. anytime soon. Maybe the 600 series . But right now I’m stuck with what I have .

Yeah, we also get the home country discount being in Canada. The F100s for example are around $5,600 US in the states but they run around $4,600 US in Canada. That’s based on MSRP.

Sorry, no, the Founder 100F. Got the model name slightly out of order, LOL!

We have our share of issues, just like any country, but I will say that our political climate has definitely not devolved to what we see there. It’s really quite amazing what’s happened in such a short period of time.

100F looks nice . Don’t think I can lift it , odds are the new subs will be heavy too .
I’d say that doesn’t matter who’s in charge they only care about the Elites . One party wants us be to become Mexico . They couldn’t Even pass any student loan forgiveness so my generation gets thrown under the bus. End up working for free til it’s paid . For years ..

I did check out the 80F and 100F but could not justify the upgrade from my Studio speakers. A pair of Studio 20 with a good sub still makes for a good system. They did an excellent job with that line but I would like to hear the Personas some day or an old set of Signatures.

Given how well the Defiance X subs perform I would expect the new Seismic subs to be very good.

So you borrowed money that no one forced you to borrow and now you want the rest of us to pay it back?
I borrowed money to buy a nice car, can you pay my loan for me? Same thing.

Yeah, Paradigm does make good subs. I’ve owned a PS1200, a PW2200, the Studio 12 and now the Defiance X15. Liked them all.

I jumped to my B&Ws from my Studios and same sort of deal. I can’t really justify an upgrade but I’ve got that devil sitting on my shoulder that keeps yapping in my ear, LOL.

Yes, that's the risk of this hobby. :) I had a real itch to upgrade a few years ago and I did visit some shops around my area (southern Ontario). Checked out some JBL, Monitor Audio, Paradigm and considered Focal and Arendal. Lots of good options out there but my room is far from ideal so hard to know if towers would work better than what I have now. It was fun research though.
