New HT setup - Stage 1 ---> Stage 2 shortly

Stage 1 -upgrade - pre=Pioneer PRO-151FD

Okay this is a real wife pleaser. All the components are behind the Salamander furniture : Hampton 339. I ordered from Amazon, free shipping and the freight company Ceva is the absolute best I have ever dealt with. The guy even help me uncrate it oustide and carry it in and then took the pallet and the boxing material away.

Salamander may be a little pricey, but the quality is superb. The wife is extremely pleased. I had recently puchased the RF20 remote for $60 ( thanks to Jostenmeats excellent suggestion) and everything can be controlled behind closed doors, amp, DV, satelite.

Here are some pictures:

The unit with front 7002s and cabinet with all components and doors closed, the SVS sub was relocated to the back of the room.

With cabintes open and speaker grill still covering the Def Tech CLR 3000 center speaker

... On the right is the RF20 and an extra power strip or the front clock and RF 20.

This is stage 1 and it worked out very well. Stage 2 is too replace the 37" Vizio LCD with a 60" Pioneer plasma which will fill most of the cabinet top

Thanks for asking, hope all is going well with you.

It is raised off the floor about 2 inches and each of the three sections has a flush vent about 2 x 5 inches. However, the back panel of each section is independent and can individually be removed (or added back easily ). Behind the left and right sections, which contain the components I have removed the back panels. this is simliar to the Amoire I had before which I had the back open; which cooled very well with closed doors.

The clock sure seems to be separate and in front of the TV.

Besides, MC2 is stepping up to a Pioneer PRO-151FD, which is going to crush any TV that I even consider getting.

That's one bright and ugly clock but it seems to keep time pretty well....

Nice job on the rest of it Cow, did you run any graphs on the sub in the back of the room? I tried mine back there yesterday and it was the worst place for it.

How would you know when to put your aluminum beanie on to prevent the mother ships ionizing ray from rotting your brain? You can only take so many of those scans. Here's my set up:

LOL .. No one likes my clock When you get older time is important; I actually put it back because my wife and I missed it. It was actually in the old setup in the Amoire. Just for you guys I might consider relocating.

The sub in the back might not be the ideal place but I watch a good movie with bass and it sounded very good.so I am okay with it. The placement of my in-ceiling speakers really sucks with the layout I have now; but with SPl level and the fact that they only provide enhancement I am good with the celing speakers also.

Doors Closed

I leave the doors closed. The cabinet is about 2 inches off the ground and there are air vents ( about 2-3 x 5-6 inches in the bottom of each of the trhee front sections. In addtion to that each of the trhee sections has a easily removable back panle made of black plasick like liminateabout 1/4 " thick. I am using the left and right cabinets fro components. the center is unused ; will be used fro storage. I have left the back off the left anf rigth cabinte to futher have ambient air cooling. So with the front doors closed it stays very cool; I also left about 3-4 inches dead space above the Marantz.

When I take a picture of stage 2 - I will inclide a picture of the cabinet back and the panel.
