Mule, Sorry for the delayed response. I've been busy lately. The calculation I did was for the wrong driver! You can still use that box, just stuff it full of absorber. Or you can build one ~ 13x13x10. This is a severely over damped enclosure. It is going to require a TON of power and equalization to get any type of flat response from these units.

.....Mac, I'm thinking 14X14 faceplate and rearplate, with 13x13 internal volume and 13X13 internally-encased rearplate, capped with the 14X14 rearplate, and lotsa' silicone and Elmer's wood glue....not sure about the internal depth yet....I called the car shop yesterday/Saturday about noon, and the guy who owns the place, Matt, said his main installer didn't show, and it would be better to come Monday, tomorrow....I just need to hear 10 and 12 inch elements being fired from 10-12 feet away via sealed boxes, and I will know....the quickness will be there, not sure of anything past that....

.....guys, I've done figured this thing out to where you can try it with nothing but a handsaw at home....a skilsaw using a tri-square as a rail would be better, but you definitely don't have to have a tablesaw....Home Depot will rip the 4X8 sheet of material into what you need to work with at home....am going to see this through to the end....massive amounts of power might be needed were the small cannons to be used in a starring role, but they are only going to be filling a supporting position, and I'm convinced this could be a real break-through for "effect" in my home theater.....

You are still going to need to put the power to them. I would recomend using some type of EQ also. You can pick up a McIntosh MQ104 off of e-bay, that would be about perfect for this.

.....Mac, I talked to a tech support person at Soundstream today....he advised for my application that I take the internal volume from .6/.8 on up to an even 1 cubic foot....that just simplified things for 12x12x12 internally.....the tech support guy said they only sold through dealers....the dealer location at the site didn't tell me anything....I'm confused....some of you hawks find them for me cheap, please.....Soundstream Van Gogh 12 rated 600 watts.....

Brian, I think those are entry level car subs. He's looking at the Gothic sub. This Soundstream is more comparable (probably even a tad better than the Gothic based on the spl rating). Still mighty pricey.

Yeah, I kinda knew that. So thats why I just added the last link of those 3, its just a search on eBay for all Soundstream subs.... (the one I said heck just check here)

Other companies to consider, are Rockford Fosgate, Phoenix Gold (however they are known more for amps if I recall) Heck even the Hsu sub. Here-- http://www.hsustore.com/asw1203.html

For some decent lower line subs MTX

.....well, they list at $4600, but that could be a hair steep, imo....me and Bob are tight, and I don't pay near that....so Brian, how did the experiment go with paralleling the four 8 ohm acoustech's for double-sided 4 ohm mains pushed by your pioneer receiver?......

Sorry, have not done yet. My parents just took off today to see a relative that is terminal. So I am stuck at their house for the next 2 weeks, watching 2 dogs, 4 birds, and 2 fish... Plenty of company that I am not used to. Should be great!!!!

EDIT::: However parents are on dial up, now damn that sucks compared to my cable... 1/100th of the speed...
