Was showing 2 days ago I’m using a Dish tv box into the AVR by a HDMI and from that to the tv by another HDMI , It’s been working for over a year that way but stopped and now the AVR shows 2 channel stereo o multichannel or what sound setting I have AVR set to but no DD like it did.

My question is how do I trouble shoot it? All the settings have not been changed.

I had that happen to me on my Integra. I had to reset it and run aud. I had it running in 2.1 for stereo use only. But hooked up my blu-ray player and the sub was not on. It was on PCM only and I could not find a way to get it changed, so I just reset it and works good. Now waiting for the Dayton center to make it 3.1 to play DD, DTS, etc.

Did you try the “straight” button on the remote? That will turn off the dsp.

I would simply do a factory reset. If it does it again, then it is obvious it is something in the setting as mentioned above. Should be an easy fix. But, sometimes the simplest things can be the hardest to do.;)

That A1050 is a good unit, my Son has that unit over 3 years now no problems at all with it. All of the recommendation are excellent choices to check out. I would hit the straight button first, check the sittings on your cable box than check the remote sitting “movie” button or maybe you hit one of the “scene” buttons by accident?

Will reset Change all my settings?

Yup. Curious as to what the OSD displays when you hit the info button.
Tried all but “reset” no change. Called Dish yesterday and after several steps they said “it’s Yahama fault”! OSD shows two channel stereo.

Yes, I agree w/EverettT. Just write your settings down so that you can set everything back as it was before.

Does it play Dolby digital on other devices?

Think you can save Yamaha settings to the computer? I know you can have multiple saved settings if you connect via http for advanced settings so might be possible.

I know on my CX-A5100 I had to use the Remote control and click the Info button and it toggled to show the actual surround formats (DD, DD+, DTS, DTS-HD MA, TrueHD).

ADTG, same on my 7790.

BTW, the new Yamaha 1080, 2080, 3080 models are being released in August. The Yamaha rep said that the replacement for the CX-A5100 pre-pro will probably be released Nov-Dec 2018.

BTW, guy noticed that YAMAHA is now listed in my signature as authorized dealer?

I love the CX-A5100 so much that I just had to become a Yamaha Dealer. :D

Tried that it shows PCM

I still think it’s Dish fault but how do I get them to fix?

Yamaha just released a new update, it’s 2.58, can you go into “System” on your OSD with your unit connected to Internet. When you pull up on “information” just toggle to “information” than toggle to System “Firmware Version” just a thought. On Yamaha units when you do a update it takes about 20 or so minutes it will erase the old information but you won’t lose your settings.
I just updated my unit last week if you have a update a “!” Will show up next to the OSD menu.
