Thanks. Haha my neighbors are pretty cool, but i dont have anyone living next to me or across from me. The guy that lives below me is never even there, so i actually get to rock out quite often :cool:
 
Well im thinking about adding a 50" Samsung 50B850 plasma. Anyone seen those? Super good looking plasma that is only about 1.4 inches thick. :cool:
 
can u really crank up those huge speakers in your apartment?

I want to commend you on your outstanding setup. The Vienna's look superb!
And I love the configuration of the components. Excellent fit and finish.

Now in regards to the Velodyne sub, after looking at the photos of your room, I was attempting to ascertain the most effective location for the 2nd sub. Because of the room configuration revealed by the photos, I just could not see where you could position it, unless you've planned to do a little rearranging to accommodate it.

By the way, that's a nice sub. I have an old school Velodyne CHT12. I currently use it in my family room. I tried to incorporate it into my main system for second sub duties, but i just could not get the calibration correct.

I will not be currently using two subs. I plan on selling the RW-12d when i get the Velodyne Optimum-12. In my little apartment at the moment duals subs will just not be the ideal. I plan to eventually try out the Emotiva ERS-212 dual sub system whenever they release it, but by then i will be in a house:cool:

I don't think I have shared this with you before, but I plan on replacing my Klipsch Ref. RF35 pkg. with either the RF63's or the Vienna Mozart Grand Pkg.
Two completely different speaker philosophies. I believe that the RF63's will give me more refinement than the RF35's, but will offer the impact I am accustom to from the Klipsch design. The Vienna's on the other hand will not only give me the refinement I'm craving, but also accuracy. With me, music is the virtue and I do believe that the Vienna's will excel. The 63's will do a fine job with music also, but after listening to them, I just believe that over the long haul, the Vienna's will give me more satisfaction. I do dig that RC64 center channel though!:D
Now that you've had the Vienna's for a while, what is your overall opinion of the performance?

The Marantz, Emotiva and Vienna combo must produce the sweetest sound. IMHO, I really think that dollar for dollar, you have put the together one on the better systems available. So much so that my next setup will be very similar in configuration.

I too have aspirations of replacing my plasma with a 1080P capable model. I have been researching the new LED's (55") by Samsung. Those too are 1.4" thick and a beautiful display. With all the the upgrades I'm planning on completing this summer, my bonus is pretty much spent!:( But I deserve it!:p

When do you plan on replacing the current flat panel?

lol you are correct Vienna Acoustics and Klipsch are pretty much polar opposites when it comes to sound characteristics.

The reference series RF-63's and 83's are an incredibly dynamic and engaging speaker. They are the perfect speaker for movies. I really really like the 63's and 83's with the RC-64. That is one hell of a setup IMO. I have the 83's and 64 on display in one of the demo rooms at the shop. Just an all around great setup. They do not necessarily fit my personal tastes though for music though since i prefer a more laid back and relaxing sound atmosphere.

The Vienna Acoustic Mozart Grands are so smoothe and relaxing. They are a very intentionaly laid back speaker. I can listen to these speakers for literally hours. They are extremely accurate and have some of the best bass i have ever heard come out of a speaker that size. They have just to 6" drivers with a 1" tweeter, but good god can they hit low. My friends come over all the time and swear my sub has to be on because the bass will just hit you right in the chest. Then i walk over and show them my sub isnt even plugged in lol and they are amazed. The cabinent construction is to thank here, it is as solid as a rock. They are also beautiful speakers. The wood veneer finish on these speakers is just top notch quality.

Most people can only demo the Mozarts at a Best Buy magnolia, which is fine, but it just does not do these speakers any justice. The mozarts sound 10x better IMHO when paired with a solid amp and properly placed in the room. Keep in mind they can be finicky with room placement. They also are not an truly dynamic speaker, meaning they dont over emphasize characteristics like glass breaking during a movie. While that may seem bad to some people its just far more accurate sounding.

Honestly it would take a hell of alot to get me to upgrade these speakers, and if i did i would most likely go with something higher up in the Vienna lineup. These will be staying in my system for a long time though :cool: and yes when paired with the emotiva gear the sound is just so incredible. I have been very very happy with this combination and definately recommend it.

I did audition Mozarts at my local Best Buy/Magnolia store. I listen to several genres of music and a couple of scenes from "Transformers".
In comparison to the Klipsch Reference RF82 pkg (this is when BB/Mag still carried the Reference line), and I've got to tell ya, IMO, the Vienna's just hands down sounded better. Cleaner, precise, transparent, just to list a few descriptions. Not the Klipsch RF82's didn't sound good, because they did. Just not as nice as the Mozart pkg.

I did listen to the RF63 pkg at another retailer. I couldn't do a comparison to the Vienna's because the retailer did not carry the brand. But I did compare them to the Paradigm Studio 100 v.4 pkg. I'd give the Paradigm's the slight edge, but I couldn't justify the cost difference. But that's just me.
Decisions, decisions. I'll give them both another audition later this month and then make up my mind.

Again, thanks for the input. You basically confirmed what I initially thought about the Vienna's.
