Very nice job, bigred! I can see a bit of my wife's O.C.-ness in your ultra-clean install. ;)

Those VA's are amongst my favorite speakers in the price range...in there with Aerial Acoustic 7B's and Sonus Faber Domus Grand Pianos (and for the future, I'm pretty certain some Salks that I will soon be auditioning). The clean bass output of the VA's is actually kind of stunning. Yep...I had to double check at the dealer when I was auditioning them...no sub was turned on.

Incidentally, I ended up with Aerials. But sometimes I second guess that decision and wonder how those Mozarts Grands or Grand Pianos would sound in my livingroom.

Lastly, of all the Klipsch I've heard, the RF63 was the only model I ever (sort of) enjoyed. But yes...very different from those smooth VA's.

lol thanks alot man :)

The Sonus Faber GP's and Aerial 7B's are fantastic speakers for sure. But if i was looking in that price range i would gotten the Beethoven Baby Grands or Beethoven Concert Grands :D .

A few years back when i was looking to build a HT/2-channel system a local HT shop that had gone out of business and been bought out, had a pair of Aerials still on hand. The new owners who converted the store into a communications tech support center had no idea what they were (but knew they were expensive). They offered them to me for $500... At the time i was still quite new to audio, and figured i would wait a week or so to audition some other things. The owners put them on ebay though and they sold for like 3 grand..... DOH! lol. Live and learn...live and learn... :)

LOL, we all have those slap-the-forehead-dumba$$ moments. I stayed away from the SF's because they didn't measure nearly so well as the AA's. I've since come to understand that measurements do NOT tell the whole story! :(

But lookee here...something from many moons ago. And my bad...the VA's I auditioned were Beethovens, not Mozarts. http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24955&highlight=sonus+faber+vienna+acoustics

i recently placed an order with AV123 for an MFW-15 because of the sweet deals they had going. Shortly after i canceled because i needed the money.

Well this weekend i was able to pick up the MFW-15 with new amp, rosewood faceplate, and custom metal grill for $200 less than if i would have just kept my order, so i got a hell of a deal :D

Anway here is my new toy.

also, how does the emotiva xpa-3 do in the shelf. Any heat issues?

It does just fine. You're unlikely to see any issues with cabinet heat build up and emotiva amps. They just dont get very warm at all, and they never get hot.

Amen to that bigred7078! My XPA-5 stays reamarkably cool. It much cooler than the other receivers I've run in the past. It only gets slightly warm after extended use.
