Working hard for you Gamblet.
Hi Gamblet,
Ok, I did quite a bit of research especially for you my friend.
First, other speaker systems to consider by good manufacturers:
Acoustic Research, Aperion Audio, Cambridge Soundworks, Cerwin Vega, Mission, Monitor Audio, Onkyo, Panasonic, {Pure Acoustics} and Yamaha.
Now, for some interesting alternatives (you'll have to check if they are available first and then check their sale price in the Netherlands, of course).
Just click on the links below:

*I personally listen to this system at my main audio dealer and I was very impressed to say the least:

--> Big important question for you my dear Gamblet: Is the brand of speaker "Pure Acoustics" available to you in the Netherlands?
The answer to that question could be your real savior and your door to pure ecstasy.
Anyway, I'll wait for more from you, but the last question has to be answered quick, your life depends on it.
Prepare to be blown away in a not too distant future.
And the good news so far, is we got you a receiver (Onkyo TX-SR607), and we also got you a 5.1 speaker system (Canton Movie CD 102, or Canton Movie 150 QX). You did mentioned the Canton Movie CD 1000, was it a printing mistake? If not, then just forget about the Movie CD 102.
1. With the CD 1000, your total cost, like we already figure out, is $1,337
($635 + $742), which is over your budget so far.
2. With the 150 QX, your total cost is $1,085 ($635 + $450), which is within the 10% margin error of your initial budget.
* Now, with system 2 (150 QX), you're good. And eventually, you'll be able to purchase a pair of nice front main speakers (when the budget allows).
And also, a center channel to at least match the two front ones.
Finally, a better subwoofer, when the cash is available. OR, the sub could be the first one to be purchase, even before the two front mains.
Whichever way you look at it, your future seems to be very bright indeed.
But, now, you have some homework to do, before you go with the last option.
This is just to make sure that you don't limit yourself too easily. There might be some very good deals out there that are just asking to be discover.
Till then, happy reading.
Bob
P.S. Something good is coming your way, I can feel the breeze...

I personally own this speaker system (5-piece QX 900 set), in one of my several systems at home: click here ->

* The complete set (5 speakers, no sub) retails for only $752 USA or roughly 631 Netherlands dollars with the tax.
Or in Canadian dollars, it's about $1,111 with the tax (list). But I paid quite a bit less than that.
