Your full time job is buying Blu-rays? I believe it.
lol no I don't buy BD's that often come on and If I do they are 10$ or less each, sure no covers, but the movies is the most important part. :) Seeing is believing. ;) Rojo come on get them! :)

Speaking of blu rays, the Veras are tremendous with acoustic blues.

If I had a little less self-restraint I might. As it is, I'm saving some dough to put into a diy sub. Hopefully. Car insurance is due, so the sub might have to wait a little longer. We'll see.

I held my nose and swallowed the bitter pill - just put these up for sale in the AH classifieds. At least, Jim's idea makes me feel a lot better about doing it!

What's Jim's idea?

What's Jim's idea?
Jim's idea is "That is how to handle it - leave the price at $1000 firm. Then give them some exercise (play them)." Letting go is not easy to do, but this does make it easier.

Sorry to hear you have to let them go Nogaro. Is this pretty much the first pair to appear on the used market? I've been watching in the usual places but haven't seen any others yet. Not sure what I'd do if a pair of 05's showed up in Maple. But Maple doesn't really fit my decor either. What am I saying  ! I'm a bachelor. We don't have decor. But still....

I'm having a harder time selling my Polk LSi25's-7's and LSiC and Marantz 7005/BD7006/CC4003 on CL then I thought so my play-time with the Vera's has been nil lately. Since I have 3 centers in Maple and 2 books in Elesberry I'm still seriously contemplating candy-apple red. Not sure I'll have the guts to do it though. I'm a fairly conservative bloke so I'm affraid I'll end up with something like boring black (with a little metal-flake maybe???). But they'ed really pop! in C-A red against my light green walls. I have bought a pair of knock-down bookshelf cabinets from PE to practice on. But I have to get rid of a bunch of stuff, first being those LSi speakers.

Maybe someday...

That's right - decor was a wedding gift, I sure didn't have it before then.

Are you saying you're going to re-finish the Veras in CA red? That would definitely pop against light green. The Elsberry, I'd imagine, would look pretty nice against light green too. Cherry would pop more, but be more subtle than CA red. But, since you're the King of your Castle, CA red, Ferrari red or Nogaro blue are all good :)

The back walls of my room are dark green where the two Elsberry 05's are. They look O.K. there but when I occasionally put them up front they look very nice against the light green. The front three are Maple which doesn't work for me against the light green but probably would look better against the darker green walls. All Maple would have been fine in an all dark green room...all Elsberry would have been fine in an all light green room. Sadly, I have "all" in neither room or speakers :( . I'm kind of stuck in a quandary  , but eventually I'll figure something out. All black in a Candy Apple Red room??? Talk about "pop!".

My LSi 25's look great against the light green but they're a bit too tall. 15's would have been just right.

You could flip your room around. Personally, I prefer any option that involves candy apple red :)

I was doing some cleaning around my audio setup and decided to hook the veras back up. It's been a few hours and I have no desire to unhook them! These puppies are sweet. I think I'm going to stage a decor coup.

Now that is smart - good thinking.

Anyone know for sure what the specified impedance on the vs05's are? I'm getting a new receiver that needs to be set differently for 6ohm loads.
