Looking to run a true 5HZ signal to my Sub woofers but think my anthem receiver will Bottle neck this.

Actually, I did not pull it out of thin air, I used the info I had, but I accept your info is likely correct, but it has made no significant difference except to minimally reduce the power handling with the lower number. This xmax is not worth arguing over, as it has no practical significance. If you don't high pass the driver as it reaches its excursion limit, then you stand a very good chance of ruining the driver. Look it up, sealed designs need low and high passing and all commercial sealed designs have that, and plate amps for sealed designs also have that ability. This is part of speaker design 101.

This positioning doesn't often align with where one's spouse says the subs work best though. Haha
For sure man...... Im just going to stop speculating and focus on learning how to setup the subs via REW software and the mini dsp. Its the only way Im going to sort out bass nulls and frequency cancelation. This seems liike the best option righ now

Alert the media, everyone! The Resident Audio Ancient has spoken! I'm sure I'm about to suffer a catastrophic subwoofer failure any second now. Just like all the other users currently enjoying single-digit frequencies with zero issues. Clearly, your vast knowledge of 1950s gramophones makes you an expert on modern subwoofers. It must be exhausting being so confidently wrong, especially when the manufacturer literally states these play down to 0Hz. No one wants your "help." Please go back to yelling at the neighborhood kids to get off your lawn.

To anyone still following this thread, going back to the original question, that everyone should have been focused on, lol, I setup REW on my laptop and connected to my Anthem MRX1140 via HDMI and ran some test tones.

With Arc correction on, I was succesufully able to play test tones right down to 2 hz and watch the movment of the existing paradigm subs.

This only confirms my original question, that the Anthem will in fact pass all frequencies through it with or without the ARC correction on.

I can not confirm any kind of output though as I dont have my UMIK-1 mic

A big thank you to those who put genuine effort into trying to help me with this.

I feel it might be time to just lock this thread as to turn commenting off

You could also buy a complete stereo for as little as a few hundred dollars to watch your subwoofer cone(s) move but the pertinent questions are:

- is it doing it at anywhere close to the correct level at the listening chair?
- is it doing it cleanly without distortion?
- is it detectable to a human being by ear or tactile sensation alone (so no eyes looking at cone motion or analyzer display panels allowed)?

The answer to all three is: "No".

This one often fools hobbyists. They play, for example, a 10Hz tone, but their overall reproduction system has trouble doing it cleanly, so it spits out a signal with harmonic distortion which is the original sound mixed with spurious, undesirable, new "distortion products" at multiples of that tone— so 20Hz, 30Hz, etc.—and those they do detect (because they are in the audible frequency range, not infrasonic) and are hence fooled into thinking: "Both my system can produce, and I can hear, 10Hz because I just tested it for myself and I heard it!"

Here for example is a graphic showing the expected harmonic distortion generated by a 100Hz tone:

People with small systems that can't faithfully play 100Hz would report that they can "hear the bass" but they are simply hearing the higher distortion frequencies of 200Hz, etc., and are being tricked by that distortion.

As they upgrade their system so it truly can produce the lowest frequencies (and at adequate clean levels) their next limitation is when the frequencies become infrasonic hence undetectable unless they are elephants.
