I'm looking to upgrade the family room from Infinity TSS-750. Room size 15 by 16, tile floor, drywall ceiling and walls, soft furniture, and 2 windows. This is the wife's main relaxing area so no accoustical treatments likely. Use mostly movies with some concert dvds.

Related equipment
Marantz sr-4001 receiver
Outlaw LFM-1 plus sub

Requirements:
Bookshelf speakers for mains not larger than 19 by 11 by 9 nor over twenty pounds.
Surround must be wall mounted flush to wall. Bi-pole preferred since back wall directly behind sofa with no good place on side walls.
Center must be less than 20 pounds

Budget $1,500 give or take 10-15 percent

Brands considered

Aperion 532 L/R/Vac/ss satisfies requirements
Axiom 22/100/q4 or q8 satisfies requirements
SVS satisfies requirements but surrounds are not bi-pole.

Considered Ascend but not mountable flush to wall
considered Rocket but too heavy

Any of first three permit 30 day audition in home.

Given the above which would be preferrable to audition first (and I hope last)

I’d go with the Ascends and add either Def Tech BP2Xs/Polk Fxi3s for surrounds

Av123 X-ls

Also consider the AV123 X-LS, X-CS, or X-sls speaker with the upcomming MFW15 sub.

Just ordered the Ascends for a thirty day trial (2 170's and the 340 center).Since the surrounds do not apparently have to be matched to the front three, I will make that decision later after hearing the Ascends. I previously thought all had to be matched. The company gave a 10 percent off coupon just for filling out a short survey a few weeks ago when registering for their forum. The owner of the company, himself, posts on the forum anwering questions of widespread relevance.
