Conclusion: I love my Epson EB-PU1006W 4K Laser Projector; it produces a great picture quality from both HDR and SDR.

Pros:

1. 4K HDR10 and SDR Performance look great (Panasonic UB-150)
2. Black levels and Contrast look great
3. Colors look great - very vivid colors and extremely eye-popping
4. Superb 6000-lumen brightness (I use 60% brightness, but sometimes go down to 50%)
5. Excellent picture quality for contents that have excellent picture quality
6. Small Incremental Zooms - movies of different ratios can fill screen
7. Capable of 4k/HDR/SDR at 60Hz
8. Excellent Laser half-life (37,000 HR at 60% brightness, 47,000 HR at 50% brightness)
9. Not heavy for 6000-lumen projector - 34 lbs
10. Quiet (28dB at 70% brightness) for 6000-lumen projector

Cons:

1. HDR reduces brightness level (~ 30% reduction, I have to increase Brightness)
2. No support for 3D-Video
3. No support for 4K at 120Hz

I think JVC will always be the Contrast king. But I’ve seen enough on this Epson to love the PQ.
