Know anything about washing machines?

We have a Maytag washer and dryer that are over 30 years old. I have replaced the drum belt (twice) and the blower impeller on the dryer over that period. Haven't had a single hitch with the washer. I hope I didn't just curse myself by saying that...

The timer on the old Kenmore dryer that came with my house stopped working- I removed the top panel and noticed that one screw hole was hogged out, so I used a slightly larger screw. That fixed it- it needed better grounding.

I bet it lasts like those 90s Camry's. It gets recalled for being too old.
