These wires are what helps get the chocolaty bass.:D
I had them in the freezer up until about an hour before you guys got here.
Since they're the only speaker wires visible, I got something a little fancy.
Cobalt Cable 10-AWG, at the time they were about $80 per pair.

Those blue things are what's called Ionozation nebulizers.
They use a combination electrospray/microwave induced plasma (MIP) ionization source is used as the ionization source for a mass spectrometer. The electrospray can be operated in positive mode, negative mode, or it can be switched off. The microwave-induced plasma can also be switched on or off. This allows the instrument to be operated in multiple modes. With the electrospray off and the MIP on, the instrument will normally have its maximum elemental sensitivity. Mixed mode operation potentially allows the determination of additional information about the chemical constituents present in the analyte. In pure electrospray mode, it is possible to obtain molecular information and to analyze organic compounds.

So.....I got that going for me too.

Amazing post ... amazing wire ... nice wall color too. :)

Seriously that wire looks great in the pic but in real life it doesn't look that flashy. Greg's speaker wire doesn't photograph well but in real life it's really something ... not flashy but just really cool. Weird how that works. Maybe the Sig8's draw all the attention away from the wire ... and the pink wall or is that rose? :D

The wall looked pink on my laptop but on the desktop it looks beige.

I knew everything appeared normal when I was there. It should be noted that Rick has all the fancy schmancy wall plates and bananas behind the entertainment center. Of course I had the bright idea for him to shift everything to the wall on the left and Mark thought it should go to the wall on the right. Rob and Doug seem to have been brought up right and kept their opinions to themselves. :)

Notice the lack of Doritos and other forms of various garbage ... and dirty feet. ;)

Good job, Rick !!! :D

I am uncertain if you know what you are doing. It is a well known fact that unless you set the electrospray to positive and the microwave-induced plasma to the off position, you are just pissing in the wind...

The Dawg does have nice speaker cable. Mazer says it looks like bungee cord, I say snake skin.:D

I concur; just seeing if anybody was paying attention.

Mark was nice enough to lend me his Maggies for a while. I'll bet they are in the top 3 for best sounding (under $2k) speaker.

How did you like them in the home? I am so tempted to get myself some. One of my favorite sounding speakers of all. How do they do with HT content? Do they reach sufficient volume levels?

That depends on just how much chocolate you can handle. :)

I could listen to those for a long time ... maybe forever ...
... but that's a commitment I'm not ready to make yet.

These are in a stereo setup only... I've never heard them in a HT setting.
They need room away from the rear and side walls. That usually collides with the WAF. If they aren't positioned just right they don't sound right, and it's amazing how big a difference it makes just moving them a foot one way or the other.
They need lots of power; these are hooked to an XPA-2.

If I were to nit-pick I'd say they need a sub. You don't get the bass impact you would from a big cone driver. These are more of an enveloping sound, not a "seat of the pants" feeling.
