Immigration, or illegal entry?

Employers

Employers in the U.S.A. should definately be held liable and accountable for the laws they are breaking with impunity! They too are thumbing their noses at American citizens as well as the taxpayers who pick up the tabs for healthcare and incarceration etc. Are these employers renumerating the locals whose property is stolen or damaged?

And why might that be...

...If on June 1, 2006 a new law says "You can't do that" (whatever that might be)...guess what? It's the law...period...Particularly where you know you shouldn't have been doing it all along and it was only a matter of time before someone nailed you for it...Prior lack of total enforcement isn't tacit approval and should in no way be construed as such...Many states have laws against smoking in certain places, use of cell phones while driving and so-called "open container" laws...just because priorities or manpower issues resulted in lax enforcement policies has no bearing on the matter...this is it, like it or not...

They'll be time...we'll go after the obvious and most egregious of the offenders...in the meanwhile figure out how you'll explain yourself out of violating the previous laws...maybe an amnesty period in which to 'fess up to being part of the problem...

What we need are laws with teeth and the b@!!$ to administer them!

That article says 3 Mexicans were killed. That's like blaming the most recent murder cases in New York City on Al Qa'ida. You have not proven anything other than you are set to prove your agenda.

I would strongly recommend everyone in this thread put you on "ignore".
Thank you very much... This is my last post about this thread...

I read in a respected mexican magazine that some Minutemen shot and killed at least three mexicans last year, I'm not making this up, but I don't recall the magazine. In think it was "Proceso"...

What I do remember is the case of Guillermo Martínez Rodríguez, shot at the back and killed by a Border Patrol Agent while he was climbing the fence on December 31, 2005. This cold-blooded murder is the result of the xenophobia, racism and intolerance present in your country, encouraged mainly by your president, sowing fear all over the world, invading countries, telling lies to do so and you believing those lies...

I apoligize if I offended you with my comments, but the truth is always disturbing...

See you later to discuss about audio...

By the way, I do have my VISA and I've been in your country. I think your country is beautiful... I've been in Vegas, Miami, San Francisco, San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston (I'm fan of the Red Sox) and New Orleans (I was very sad and shocked of what happened to this stunning city).

You're welcomed in my country. The're other beaches than Cancun, I invite you to visit Barra de Navidad, Jalisco, for example...

...given the subject matter of this discussion, I'd say you (and your countrymen) should be the last ones talking about us invading other countries.

You don't see us waving our flag in other countries, burning the local flag, demanding they pay our medical bills and educate out kids, do you?

And, there's always two sides to every story. Here's another

http://www.fairus.org/site/PageServer?pagename=research_feb06nl11?&printer_friendly=1

A snippet from that article: "Between October 1 and January 1, there were 78 reported assaults on Border Patrol agents in the San Diego sector, where the shooting took place."

Geez!

Ahhh, an anarchist eh...? Your worry is not about our country, it should be with the corrupt Mexican government. Sounds like Vincente Fox telling Americans what we cannot do. If we really wanted to we could take over your country, annex you and then turn all of Mexico into a new United State! Why doesn't your country have the opportunities for it's indigenous people like the U.S. has? Ineptitude by your own comments seems to be the answer.:eek:

We have enough problems with people on welfare here already.

Good point about opportunities, though. With NAFTA they should be able to entice manufacturing plants there. I know Zenith tried that in the late 80's and early 90's.

Ooop!

Sorry about that! Right on about the welfare. Although we seem to be giving it to them anyway!

I didn't say it was wrong - just inappropriate. A simple 'HEADS UP!' is in order so business owners who DO want to stay in business can figure out how to do so 100% legally. No sense in shutting down guys that really do want to take a serious swing at their business. Combine that with those that may be legalized, deported, etc. I don't think it is wrong for them to enforce the law, but unlike an open container, a business structure usually can't be changed overnight and a lot of hard working legal citizens could be adversely affected by a less than scrupulous employer. I (personally) don't want those guys to lose jobs and businesses to be shut down because law enforcement suddenly decided to do their job - or gained the resources needed to do their job.

You offend with your comments because there is no reason at all to believe it as the truth. You make statements such as: "the result of the xenophobia, racism and intolerance present in your country" when the comment could be: "the result of the lying, theiving, criminal drug dealings of our Mexicans, enabled primarily by President Fox" Both statements are equally false and blanket statements are almost always lies - not truth.

The point is that these folks who hire ILLEGALs are breaking the LAWS, PLURAL! They know they are doing this and do not care that it costs willing, hard working LEGAL immigrants and US citizens jobs, tax revenue, welfare. Not only that but after the debate that has been raging for some time, particularly in the border states these people already got a HEADS UP! I know that if I go out and commit a felony,I'll be arrested, tried and convicted. If it is a felony, I cannot even vote. If you can't do the time, don't do the CRIME!

I just love how we are made out to be the bad guy in all of this. Mexico needs to worry about Mexico, they have more than enough problems stemming from their government than to worry about what ours is doing.(Example:http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060517/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/mexico_vote_of_fear) Who are they to tell us how to handle immigrants when there very own policies on the subject are a human rights violation nightmare?

We have the right to secure OUR boarder and to prosecute and deport illegal immigrants.....period. Don't like it, go about doing it the legal way like some many before you did!

Our fault in all this is letting it go for too long.

I can see things get very interesting the first time the Mexican army runs across a NG patrol while running drugs on our side of the boarder.....but then again it probably will get swept under the rug like the hundreds of encounters the Boarder Patrol has had with them.:rolleyes:

I love this article...:rolleyes: http://www.military.com/NewsContent/0,13319,97378,00.html?ESRC=army-a.nl

From that link comes the following quote:

"People here have more important things to do then watch Bush," said Carlos Amado Luarca, a Dominican monk who works in the shelter. "This plan to send Soldiers is one more sign of the decadence of the American empire."

I find it ironic that Mexicans, let alone monks, would want to facilitate the waves of people into the "decadence of the American empire." Perhaps if they sent the doctors, lawyers, philosophers and businesspeople along with the masses of indigent homeless people, we could begin amending our ways (of decadence).

In the same vein:

If we do not control immigration, we are destined to follow the plight of France, with 20% unemployment, the younger generation demanding (lifetime) work and wage guarantees, and then rioting when they don't get what they want. I think it's ludicrous that there is any surprise at their high unemployment rate when the floodgates of illegal entry were opened wide to unskilled labor.

I have nothing against Mexican people. I think it's a nice country to visit, with good people and good culture. But the illegal immigrants are not political refugees. They are not claiming human rights violations, religious persecution, or protection from anything but a very meager income level. They simply want a better way of life...which for them is purely economic in the immediate. There has been nothing advanced to the contrary. France allowed the same thing...and look at all the problems they're having.

Funny

Got this in an email today:

MR. PRESIDENT, I'M HEADED TO MEXICO

NewsWithViews.com
Dear President Bush:
I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this.
I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here.
So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. All government forms need to be printed in English.
4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.
5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.
7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, and dont enforce any labor laws or tax laws.
13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy.
I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all the people who come to the U.S . from Mexico. I am sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.
However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail hunting with your V.P.
Thank you so much for your kind help.
Sincerely,
David M. Bresnahan

And:

1) Mandate that the Mexican national anthem be sung in English (as well as in Spanish);
2) That if we get caught working w/o proper papers we will not be charged w/ a felony;
3) That we will not be arrested or deported for protesting the inhumane way in which the southern Mexican border is patrolled (and immigration laws are enforced);
4) That we will not be arrested or deported for burning the Mexican flag in protest;
5) As well as all those other humanitarian rights that ought to be granted us...because we are Americans in Mexico...and proudly proclaim it by waiving the American flag while denouncing Mexican policy and seeking Mexican citizenship.

I ask only for these things (and to jump ahead of everyone else in line who seeks naturalization legally).
