I'm battling Testicular Cancer

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I figured I'd let folks know. I got diagnosed only a few weeks ago and it's been a whirlwind. I've already had a couple surgeries and a round of chemo I have 3 more rounds of chemo to go.

I'm off work and on good ole short term disability so I do get to spend a lot of time with my audio system at least. I suspect I'll be posting here a bit more too. The tumors already appear to be shrinking so I'm hopeful I'll beat this. My wife is the poor soul taking it the hardest.

Egad! Scary stuff, but that's excellent that you're already seeing results from your treatments. Tell your wife you survived Y2K, and you'll survive this, too.

Isi, I really like your positive outlook. My MOM had a very rough time w/chemo. She passed in 2013, but was certainly a trooper herself. Sounds like you are as well. Hang in there. Prayers going up for you and yours! :):):)

Cheers,

Phil

Seriously, I have no life.
Hang in there. More likely than not this will be survivable.

The commonest is seminoma with local disease having a 99% survival rate. Local spread 96% and distant spread 76%.

For non seminoma tumors survival is close to 100%.

So hang in there this is a case where the odds are in your favor.

Good luck!

TLS Guy is right, this is survivable. Survival rates that good are a lot less terrifying than the word cancer. Make every effort to finish your last three rounds of chemotherapy. Lance Armstrong would call it "the breakfast of champions"!

Best wishes from all of us here at AH.

As you get older, pitchin a tent gets harder and harder. Best of luck to you and a full and speedy recovery.

Best of luck to you! I know it's usually survivable but that doesn't make the cure any easier to take. May it go well and be tolerable for you.

Best of luck with this. Thankfully you have music, which we all know promotes a better sense of well being, and positivity, which can only help in situations such as this.

Man, beat the hell out of that TC!! You have to find a way to mock it and laugh about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not into new age mumbo jumbo, but you need your spirit now. You have to laugh in its face.

Not a pleasant situation, I'm sure. But, keep your chin up, brother. You can beat it.
