my 2002 acura CL type S with 260 hp . . .
I test drove one of those, back then, and it was definitely the funnest front wheel drive I've ever tried out. :) Though I haven't tried too many.

I thought* that I had shared this already, but it appears I haven't after searching keywords, and even looking at my posts in the youtube thread. I think this factory is very cool. :) The Volkswagen Transparent Factory looks like a museum. Stuff is powered by induction, IIRC, and nice wood floors for a car factory!

You should just give me year-2009 dollars for my year-1997 BMW M3.

I used to be as big as a BMW fan boi as any, but I'd have to think pretty hard about getting a 335i. An '09+ M35 is much more likely in my book. We'll see though. I have about 10 more months of saving $$.

All Honda automatics mated to V6 engines from 99 to 2002 suffer from tranny issues. Stay away completely.

The IS series MPG ratings are total BS, which is unusual for Toyota since they usually underrate their cars. Expect 25/32 out of the 250 tops, 22/30 out of the 350 tops.
I assume you have thorough experience with the cars? 'Cause I do, I've seen what people get out of them, it's accurate.

i dont think you can lump Infiniti and Nissan into the same pile since none of Infiniti's sedans or crossovers are built in the US they are 100% made in japan. I have consistantly seen people come in to buy new ones after putting 100k plus on their old ones.
I said Nissan. I never mentioned Infiniti except where I compared them to BMW. Infiniti is, however, Nissan, no matter which way you slice it. And the VQ engine still powers the car we're discussing, which is the G37.

The only Nissans I've personally experienced had enough issues for me to stay away from them. Lesse, slipping tranny on a 91 Sentra SE-R, broken tie rods on a 1992 Stanza, dead tranny on a 2002 Maxima, blown head gasket on a 2002 Sentra SE-R SpecV, fired a piston on the 2002 Sentra SE-R SpecV, blown head gasket on a 1999 Infiniti G20 (glorified Sentra in those days), list goes on. Honda by comparison, no such issues, even from an 85 Accord that got to 260k miles, an 88 Accord that got to 240k, and plenty more. Cept those damn trannies on the V6 autos... but I don't drive cars with slop-box.

Maybe I'd like Infiniti more if they gave the G37 Coupe AWD a 6 spd manual. You sell them. Talk to them! Like I said in my post, I think they're good cars. I'm just aware of their history, just like I keep Hyundai's in mind even though the new Genesis is a nice car.

I assume you have thorough experience with the cars?
Quite a bit and I've never seen anywhere close to those numbers from anyone. However, no one I have spoken to about the Acura RSX Type-S has ever seen it get over 40MPG. The woman does it very often though. She also drives it like it's made of glass and baby powder. I don't know anyone that drives an IS250 or 350 so gently. Maybe your sources are gentle. ;)

Well not knowing your background on the subject its hard to say what you are basing this off of but I do disagree since this is my industry and I am around them everday.

The CL type S was a fun car except I will never buy another performace oriented front wheel drive again.. Torque steer is a B*tch.

We'll agree to disagree. You have your experiences, I have mine. Also, you're a sales guy. Sorry, I've been a sales guy, I don't even trust my own views on things I've sold. We tend to be biased on things we make money from. ;)

CL was a front heavy oversized pig with a carry-over interior. Only the 2003 came with a 6 spd manual, and they slapped an LSD in that one. The only time I got torque steer out of those was when they were supercharged. I was about to buy another one recently too, but then I realize how little I like that car.

For what it's worth, Honda pisses me off with their latest models and I would buy a G37 if the AWD came with a manual. As it is, the 335xi is the only option under $50k.

we can disagree on that.. but bias doesnt really come into play here.. I'm not selling you anything nor will I. I sell BMW too and can freely admit they have issues.. same goes for Mercedes.

as a guy i wish the G37X came in a manual.. but as a salesman I miss out on maybe 2 sales a year because of it.. so its not really that big of a deal.. I woudl ratehr get a dual clutch :)

as for Acura/honda.. I think if they want to compete in the performance sedan market and be taken seriously they need to move to a rear wheel drive platform. Regardless of how good they are getting at overcoming it the torque steer and bad weight distribution will always hold them back.. especially now that AWD is so common.

thats my 2 cents
