He is borderline with me. I think he still needs a few more stand out performances.

It is and he is an excellent actor. I am just not sure he is a GREAT yet. I loved him in Man On Fire. He would have been able to pull off I am legend in a more convincing manor I am sure of that.

If this movie is just an excuse to run around & blow stuff up then Will Smith is a fine choice ... just get some popcorn and enjoy the flick.

If the movie is more about the drama of the situation I'd rather see Ed Norton or any other decent actor. BTW: Denzel would be fine ... he's close enough to a real actor for me.

Nicolas Cage is NOT a good actor in my book. I never buy into his character. When I see one of his movies it is always, "Why is Nicolas Cage stealing a car, I though he was an actor", "Why is Nicolas Cage stealing the Declaration of Independence, going to prision will hurt his acting career?"

Bill Paxton is the same way.

My definition of a good actor or actress is that the role consumes them. They never show who "they" are, they do not make the role they play, they become the role. Few actors have this ability.

Robert Deniro is a great actor. Tom Hanks is a great actor. Joquin Phoenix is a great actor. Jamie Fox is a very good actor. Natalie Portman is a very good actress. Liam Neeson is a very good actor. Sigorney Weever is a very good actress. Mike Myers, though he created many of his roles and such is a good/decent actor.

I have to disagree with you on Portman. My gosh man some of her scenes in the new Starwars films were painful to watch.

just saw ...Legend, last night in IMAX....i really like those movies ...where people are alone on earth,,,omega man ,,28days later etc....the best of all time, and is in my top five favorite movies, is.......the QUIET EARTH
love that movie....
anyways back to legend ...liked the first half....good feel and look of being isolated and alone....nice CGI
last half??? (Borat accent) " not so much"
he thought of everything to survive..steel over windows ..explosives etc.. but he didnt have a safe space...bunker , iron clad room....Plexi Glass????

one thing me and my buddy said leaving the theater was..did JADA have anything to do with the female casting??? the choices picked were so ..ahem.....not pretty....usually any hollywood big budget movie needing a chick in a role will always be HOT....scarlett, jessica , angelina etc...but this film ??????? yup JADA picked the female roles to keep her man out of trouble

in IMAX the trailor for the new batman......WOW!!!!
PS....in omega man if you really watch for it ...there is a scene where hes driving around L.A. ....alone........and way in the back ground you can see a car drive by.....oops

HURRICANE anyone??? starts off a young street kid,,then a ripped boxer, then in prison for twenty years then at the end hes an old man...
he was robbed for an OSCAR that year....way better than training day.IMO

I just finished watching the movie,i thought it was fantastic,without giving away any spoilers there was a point in the movie where i came close to shedding a tear,notice i said i came close

All around excellent movie with a few twists to it,matter of fact im gonna watch it again right now i liked it so much.

overall the movie is really,really good(a few huge plot holes aside)
it's the way they did the ending that really ruins the effect. most "issues" before the last few scenes are forgivable, it's just the sudden religous implications and insults to the viewers intellegance that come into effect in the last ten minutes that are questionable.

That said, overall I really enjoyed the movie and will buy it on dvd and probably watch it several times.

Just watched it; excellent and it's without a doubt one of the more suspenseful movies I've seen in quite some time. The ending came too quick though and they didn't really expand on the trap that was set for him and its implications.

I'll agree with those that commented on the religious bull that was inserted at several points; these days it's as if Hollywood has an mandatory clause to insert X number of religious references into every blockbuster movie.

Well worth a watch if you want to have the pants scared off you.

I thought Poseiden and this movie where very suspensful at the theater.

Not everyone, I thought he stunk up the place with his one dimensional acting ability. He has ZERO screen persona. I think Gilbert Gottfried would have even done a better job.
