What was the album of your childhood that you listened to the most with your dad? The one that instantly takes you back when you hear it today? For me, it was Pink Floyd’s "The Dark Side of the Moon" every time I hear it, those memories come rushing back

Outside of classical, the Isley Brothers and Del McCoury would be one with any given mood. Classical was blasted through the house prior to church, sorta a breakfast bell. :)

There were two that come into mind.

Led Zeppelin - In Through the Out Door
Dire Straights - Dire Straights

My dad preferred classical music, I didn't care for it much. He did buy me a couple albums that surprised me, and the only ones he'd listen to very long that I remember (we didn't just sit and listen together really)....Janis Joplin and the Holding Company's Cheap Thrills and Emerson, Lake & Palmer's first album particularly come to mind.

My dad had an Oldies but Goodies 8 track loaded with gems. The tracks I remember make up more than what I think fits on one tape so it may have been 2 tapes but I recall it as one tape. He had 8 track players in his multiple Lincoln Continentals and Cadillacs all through the 60's and 70's and even later. I actually made that as a playlist on my iTunes of the ones I can recall. Here's the incredible list as a screen shot:
