Thoughts and opinions? Which one would you go with?

two different type of subs here- how big is your room and what are your bass goals?

The hsu is cheaper and great performance plus it’s ported since I’ll be using my setup for movies.

Hard to know with just that.
I know there other options and other factors. For the money don’t think can go wrong. I know jtr is great also. Sure I could spend lot more money but probably no need.

Just don't know what you expect in the way of opinions for the conditions/reasons offered. Why not a JTR ported sub? Both brands/subs are solid depending on your needs.

I think a new pair of “shoes” will be awesome.

Just was looking for thoughts and opinions on these. Both can’t wrong with. I know there are other options like Svs etc. I was also looking at jtr 2400 since it’s ported but more costly then the hsu and rs1. But I think I should stick with ported for movies.

Why the ported/movie thing? Depends what you're chasing with how many subs in what room, etc. Size of box can be significant, tho.

IMO svs has lost its value proposition. HSU seems to be the leader there, although RSL is another great choice with excellent customer service. You’ve mentioned ported for movies a couple times now. I agree that ported is the right choice. But I also think it’s the right choice for music too.

I’ve had both sealed and ported. I like both. Most run ported with movies but not necessarily. I have enough room for big subs. My living room not huge but decent size. Plan to run 2 subs.

I’ve had both but usually prefer ported for movies gives more that bass attack vs sealed which is clean. Both are good.
