I know of no audio magazine that doesn't advertise. And what's teh difference between a magazine add or an add on web page when it comes down to trusting the writers? Its all the same..know what I mean?
You sure about that? I am not in that industry, so I cannot say for sure. It's possible, of course, but I doubt Internet sites take home as much revenue as magazine publications, thus less advertisers and thus less pressure to dance around the truth (in the articles). In many instances that I have seen, Internet sites review a brand, then start advertising for them
after they are confident said product is of high quality.
I guess no one can be sure, but based on what Ive learned I have no issue putting my opinion out on the line. If I am wrong, I'm wrong...but I honestly don't think I am.
Either way, the moral of the story is to take ANYTHING that you read, whether in a printed magazine or on the internet, with a grain of salt. It's not smart to purchase solely based on someone else's opinion.
