I've only just begun my quest for the kind of stereo music system that I really dream about, and here's what I think you could consider. Find a modern AVR with pre-outs for a possible future power amp upgrade, and at least one subwoofer connection because you may want it someday, and inputs for any digital devices that you have or may acquire in the future. I still have two '70s era turntables and plenty of vinyl, so anything I would buy must have phono inputs. Not sure if that's part of your world but it's something to consider. I started this quest with a pair of 80s era Sansui 12" 3 ways, then recently replaced those with a pair of Polk RTi-A9 speakers, which were fine, but the lack of bass was bothering me, so I added a 12" subwoofer. That was a real eye (ear) opener. I have my bass and I'm quite happy now. Then after a while I came upon a deal for a pair of JBL studio 590's that had noticeably detailed crisper highs. I did comparison tests and the JBLs were more to my liking. The Polks have been moved upstairs, and I think I'm pretty happy for now. My AVR will eventually get married to some kind of 2 or 3 channel power amp someday, and my AVR can support that. I've also added a Roku stick and have my TV connected via HDMI, so I got pretty much anything I need for now running as a 2.1 system. My point is that my AVR is the hub for my music listening. I can swap components around it and experiment. I think with the speakers you have, you can find plenty of AVRs out there to support any speaker combination, and inputs for any digital and analog devices, and possibly use the pre-outs to add more amplification. I'm noticing more integrated units lately that include digital streaming. Now that I'm seeing more vinyl in places like Target and other stores, I think the electronics market will try to meet the demand for what people are craving. I think it's a good time for audio.
