I've never attended Church, ever. I went to a christmas play once, and even that I wasn't buying. I don't know what it is, but its seems so, fake, so convenient to say, "Oh, god did it (not like that, buts its the gist of the message)". Correct me if im wrong on anything also:). Heres an example.

Say my brother was sick, the flu, keep things simple. I can do 1 of 2 things.

1.)Pray every night hoping he will get better.

or

2.)Make him some chicken noodle soup and physically help him.

Thats the way I see it, I know its not that basic, as you can't cure everything with chicken noodle soup, but we're trying :)

I also see no need for church to be advertised. If people truely want to believe, they will come, the others were never meant to be in church. Again, just the way I see it.

.....Sheep, God's will is going to be done, no matter what we ask for in prayer....let's see, one of the two above, must I choose....hmmm....ok, Sheep, here's my answer....yes....faith without works is dead....and, "as ye' have done unto the least of these, my brethren, ye' have done it unto me"....you'll notice that last one was a quote......

Well if the wheels are rolling again, I HATE GOD.

there, that should piss some ppl off. :p

Sheep
Rollin, rollin, rollin....keep this post a'rollin, Amen! I was wondering if this was dead.

Well, Sheep, I for one am not angry, but I will pray for you again tonight. God loves you and died for you even if you hate him. As for the good stuff in the video but leave out the God stuff, well, all good things come from God, so you just can't leave Him out. Well, you can, but it still comes from Him anywho.

Church. Well, I've posted on that before. I know others have posted here or somewhere, I don't recall, that you can worship from the beach, your house or wherever and not have to go to church. True. The Bible says to "forsake not the gathering of believers" so if you choose to stay home, you are being disobedient, like it or not. I didn't say it, God did. If you can go, you should.

I love to go to church. It is refreshing and encouraging for me to go. I can share my pains, needs and trials with others and them with me. We can love on each other and encourage each other. Most of all, we can worship together. It is, however, not the only time we should worship. We should have our own personal worship each day and gather together with the saints to worship God corporately on the appointed day.

I have also stated it is not my job to convince anyone. It is my job to tell the truth. It is up to the Holy Spirit to convict and convince. It is up to you to accept.
Thanks for the kind words, Mulester! I appreciate you as well.

I already got one red for a post here...bring it on! Only problem is the red chicklets clash with my neck.

You guys need to learn what emoticons are, and what they mean. You also need to read my more rescent post.

You speak so confidently that god DID create everything. Yet, theres no proof, its just, "he/she/it created it, moving on..."

Finally, my crushing blow.....ok, just my strongest arguement

I don't know how many different religions there are, but theres more then 1. Everyone is different in a way. This leads me to believe that god isn't real, because if there is only 1 god, then ALL but one religion is telling the truth, making the others a scam/hoax, whatever you want to call it. So which one is it? Yours? You'd like that, try to pull me away from neutral or any other religions.

Its hard to see people from the audio relm, a relm full of lies and tricks, so easily falling for this trick. IMO. ;)

Before i say something i should'nt,i'll just get out of this thread as hereing this stuff is the biggest reason i dont go to church. Too bad. Until the church stops brainwashing those to recruit for whatever reason,i'll belive in what i want, thanks. If God is here,he did give me my brain to choose and think with.

When this thread was recently revived (by Mulester no one wanted to comment on my dog) I went back to re-read from about post 180. One thing I notice is the non believers bring up a lot of good points that god's people totally ignore.

Just an observation:)

I saw where you had stated that this was a joke. But IMO, thats an awful risk to take.

I would have come up with something a tad less, WELL NOT LIKE THAT!!!!

Yeah, even that caught my attention. And I have not visited this thread in well over a month.

Hmm, you know where you going straight to for that one. But if I recall, your kind of a non-beleiver????

Anyway, no biggy. I was really hoping this thread would have been dropped.
Or at least we could get back to what I had stated "lesbians".
Back at around #150-155 post...

Sure, why not? After all, he can already produce non-life from life. (hint: bang bang! )

Absolutely. Any species that thinks to call itself Homo-sapiens, i.e. wise-man, needs to be taught humility.

.....I'd say that's vital, Buckle....and I believe the need for such humbling is built into us....we all have to grow up and pay bills and accept responsibilities, but it's actually best if we are allowed to be a kid while we are a kid....some mighty messed-up and forlornly frustrated adults come from not having much of a childhood, imo.....

Since the moderators don't seem to have a problem with this line of discussion:

I am not religious. I spent a fair amount of time in church as a kid and understand the basic program. Basically, I see no compelling evidence of some higher authority protecting the earth or its people. In fact, if there is some higher authority, I'd like to sit down and file some particular complaints about how things are being run.

But, I don't think there is. Every time I go to church, be it a wedding mass or funeral (and that's about it), I feel like my head is burning. The unity of faith and its pure truth is a beautiful thing and I respect that in its pure setting. I also respect it whereever else it lives. I don't disparage anyone their personal beliefs and I thank them not to push theirs on me.

Anyone that truly hates the Greater Forces, whatever they may be, faces a nasty cocktail - 1) there is some bigger force; and 2) It/He/She/They do not like you. This would make it difficult to change course, as it isn't a matter of self determination.

The peace that True Belief brings to its bastions is enviable. I wish my life were more calm at the core. But, wishing so isn't sufficient to change my essential, intellectual lack thereof. I can't say to myself "look at those happy people, now think like them". Beauty and truth are often not aligned. Not that I deny others' truth either, but I cannot accept it for myself.

We all have our own reasons for what we believe. I stopped trying to convince people that I'm "right" long ago. I appreciate what faith brings to its true believers and also watch high members of churches do unspeakable evils to their followers. Again, truth, beauty, and true faith are often cast as parallel when in fact they are far from it.

I didn't edit, nor even read this mindstream intentionally, and hope it is coherent.

stop posting in this thread. People said "why is this thread back?" for a reason.

Use PM's or Something. The steam vent can't handle religious steam, there's too much steam! Its a subject with no right or wrong so the agurment will never end, which can clearly be seen.

As for my post being too harsh....I don't really care. Gotta be able to laugh somethings off in life. What about all the comedians who use god for material?

As one who is on the fence about God, I find this thread stimulating. However I can see how others might feel differently. If the thread continues you might choose not to read it.
