Going to a Concert?

Roger Waters was pretty awesome. Not so much the idiots behind us that wouldn't stop yelling so we had to move from our seats. You could see the screens well from anywhere though. Sound was a little off to both our ears (my friend is a long time musician) and sure enough we learned later why. One of the big consoles blew and a buddy of ours who supplies PA equipment came to the rescue with a replacement from the same brand, but they lost all of their programming from the previous shows. The sound quality should be back up to Water's usual high standard once they get that sorted out. Besides his solo material they played Sheep, Have a Cigar, Wish You Were Here and the entire second side of Dark Side of the Moon. The rendition of Us and Them was particularly good.

Cool. Screen setup looks like a very similar setup to U2's last tour. I will be seeing this show in Sept.

It's close to a square stage for the band with ramps running off in all four directions, so he interacts with all of the audience. The screen is cross shaped so you can see the left and right panels from anywhere in the arena. This was at the Scotiabank Arena where the Maple Leafs play hockey and the rig was so heavy that the roof supports sagged! Apparently it's not a projection screen but a giant display, so quite heavy. Looked amazing. They had surround speakers installed which was cool when the helicopter effects came into play. Should have all of the kinks worked out in a couple of weeks so you're in for a treat.

Yeah, it is a large LED screen I believe. NIN has used something like it before, but not as big. U2 has been using it for a while, but not in a cross config, just straight. I got seats that were close to the stage, but at a bad angle, but with the screens, we could see most everything.

Joshua Tree 30th anniversary tour had the biggest screen I've ever seen. That show was incredible...
