Global Warming'ists Basking in Bali

Nice........ way to set the 'green' example for the rest of the world!! The hypocrisy of the Man Made alarmist cooks knows no bounds:eek: I guess the irony of a bunch of "Greenies" flying to one of the most remote locations on earth for their "GW summit" never occurred to be hypocritical to them?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071206/ap_on_re_as/bali_us_under_siege

It appears the only reason they made the trip to Bali is to bash the USA for not joining Kyoto. LOL

This gave me a chuckle too.....
"Kyoto, which was rejected by the Bush administration, commits three dozen industrialized countries to cut their greenhouse gases an average of 5 percent below 1990 levels between next year and 2012, when it expires."

They seem to forget that Kyoto was rejected back in 1997 when President Clinton was in power....LOL Not to mention...the senate also rejected it by a margin of 95-0 in the Senate!!

Liberal media= Blame GWB even for events before he was twice elected president.

PS.... Speaking of Hypocrisy...... I read that Barbara Boxer flew by private jet to attend the Bali event even though she was one of the 95 senators who cast a "Nay" vote to reject Kyoto.

This is a priceless nugget related to the incoming jet traffic.

" How to Jettison a Jet
A Lack of Apron Area Will Compel Delegations Attending the UN Climate Change Conference to Park their Planes Outside of Bali.

Bali News: How to Jettison a Jet
(11/3/2007) Tempo Interaktif reports that Angkasa Pura - the management of Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport are concerned that the large number of additional private charter flights expected in Bali during the UN Conference on Climate Change (UNFCCC) December 3-15, 2007, will exceed the carrying capacity of apron areas. To meet the added demand for aircraft storage officials are allocating "parking space" at other airports in Indonesia.

The operational manager for Bali's Airport, Azjar Effendi, says his 3 parking areas can only accommodate 15 planes, which means that some of the jets used by VIP delegations will only be allowed to disembark and embark their planes in Bali with parking provided at airports in Surabaya, Lombok, Jakarta and Makassar."

LOL...that is priceless!!

I think they should hold their global warming conference in February...in Edmonton. The only problem is that NOBODY would show up. It's too damn cold.

I hear they're already rubbing their hands together with greedy glee in Edmonton...in anticipation of becoming the next "wine country" when Napa Valley turns into desert. It's Global 'Balancing' for those people. ;)

One person's warming-oh-no is another person's warming-oh-yeah! :D

Exactly. If the INS won't let me move to Florida, let the Florida weather move to me. I'm freezing up here.

What gets me is how the whole bogus "environment=global warming" equation has been latched onto by the public. It diverts attention from the huge number of other environmental issues that need to be dealt with. For example:1) Pollution, especially air pollution. Many of the world's cities are rapidly becoming unfit for human habitation. Athletes will have to wear breathing masks at the Beijing Olympics! 2) The rain forests are still being cut down and burned at an alarming rate. The long-term results cannot be predicted in detail, but are certain to be devastating. 3)The bee population has dropped dramatically. If bees become extinct, all crops everywhere will fail. 4) What happens when all those abandoned nuclear submarines off the coast of Russia finally rust through, exposing the cores?
I could go on, but this is enough to get the idea across.

Even if the media do overstate the case, that does not change the fact that GWB is lower than pond scum and has no redeeming qualities, whatsoever.

It's kinda like the Earth Day rallies where it takes the city a day or two to clean up the trash afterwards.

I don't think that the Kyoto treaty was one that made much sense ... IIRC many of the countries are not hitting their targets as is ... IIRC countries like India && China basically didn't need to worry about it .... why would we sign onto something that, in hindsite, was a waste of time????

-----------------------------------------------------

Devil's Advocate: We as a people should be doing a much better job of leaving our country [and likely the world] as a better place than we found it.

For example the people wasting soooo much energy with SUVs or other vehicles that they don't even use for off-road / work / etc. purposes really get me annoyed. People are just happily wasting a valueable resource and they simply don't give a d@mn about anyone else except that they have their status symbol.

Do most people care about renewable energy sources, clean energy sources, gray water systems, etc. .... Sure ... unless it means they can't have their SUVs or that they can't afford a 3000 sq ft. home and have to settle for 2200 sq ft..

Basically our mindset is that we don't want to do anything to avoid a train wreck if it causes us the slightest bit of discomfort .... This lack of guts doesn't just apply to energy or pollution but to virtually every single problem that we face today.

Forget Al Qaeda ... we're our own worst enemy.

Which is more critical? Which can be accomplished simultaneously? Pollution is an outfall of dirty power and cars, fossil fuels, so if that is reduced, so would it help warming.
Yes, The thought of that pollution crossed my mind for the Peking Olympics. How did the committee pick that smog capitol?

You must be fun at parties. You know him personally, do you? From your personal comments the two of you must be very close. Criticizing policy is always better than taking personal shots. For example, I could say:

1) You post nothing but leftest drivel and sound like an aggressive democratic talking point, or

2) Attacking GWB personally every chance you get is likely personally satisfying to you but does nothing to further any of your personal beliefs of positions on particular issues.

I think #2 is the exemplary way to go in all cases of discussion. Courteous, but making a specific point, request or observation.

The true beauty of free speech is that when you let people say exactly what they think, you get a true measure of who that person is. I would rather have somebody speak frankly, even offensively, rather than have them censored or self-edit their comments with the effect of giving me a false impression of who they are.

Aaaaah yes.... Hitler: (another famous pro-abortion, pro-gun control, socialist party reformist)

Hitler was slightly left of Hillary....but their political platforms (minus the extermination camps) were/are very similar.....they're nearly interchangeable on many social & economic policy fronts.

Buckeye, your liberal bashing and anti-global warming stance is becoming quite old. Considering the fact that the major talk shows (Ie. Rush, Glenn Beck, Schmidt, etc) and news media outfit FOX are all conservative you may want to rethink the term "liberal media".

you may find this entertaining and informative :)

and while you keep shouting antics that Global Warming is a hoax, scientists keep recording the greatest ice loss in Greenland and the Artic ocean in recorded history:

I thought you were merely another right-wing jerk (sorry, redundant) until I read this post. Now I know that you are actually stark, raving nuts (or at least if you actually believe any of that garbage you wrote, you are.)
