Floor standing speaker recommendation

i Am looking for an Extremely versatile floorstanding speakers.
I am military and Moving a lot therefore room dimensions will always be changing and different. Probably music 75 percent and movies/sports the other 25 percent. I’m really looking for a speaker that can provide massive immersive sound and produce a wide soundstage. I do plan to invest in a quality subwoofer but I’m not sure how long that will take so I’d like a speaker that can perform well without one but would also be conducive to the upgrade.
I’m also drawn to a speaker is visually appealing. I’m really drawn to cherrt or other natural brown color speakers. Price preferably thousand for the pair.

So far I have considered the Polk RTI series, fluance signature series, or the ELAC F6 or even a Klipsch speaker.

As you can see I have little direction! Thank you!

Many people tend to like Wharfedale -- Diamond 240

If you look at Klipsch, then look at the RP series

If you can handle black -- the Boston M350 are on serious closeout pricing and will hit below 40 hz in room , and they have a nice tweeter -- they use to list for $2500 a pair

Again if you can handle black, my preference would be the Canton Chrono 509.2 -- sold each and onsale

Acc4less has the KEF 3-way Q700's towers in black for ONLY $399 w/free shipping! They are also being closed out. Acc4less is great to deal with too. Highly recommend them! Here is a link:

The description is referring to the HF driver. That is, the tweeter is made of aluminum. However, the UNi-Q has the tweeter mounted to the mid albeit a co-axial driver. :):):)

HF = High Frequency?

I am ignorant of acronyms!

Am I trolling (what does that mean?) or should I start a new discussion because I'm thinking of changing from bookshelves to floor-standing?

No, that is called hi-jacking :). Depends on whether the OP cares mostly, but if you have the same goals....

If it’s 75% music and the room will always be changing, why not go for a Klipsch RP-160m? Even without a sub they’re more than adequate for music, since you can typically get a 30-35hz response in room. They are small enough that transporting them won’t be a pain in the ass, but have enough muscle to fill a large room with high volumes.

I have run them full range on movies and music just to gauge their performance without a sub and in a 2000 cu ft room with reference level playback they handle the low end just fine by themselves without severe distortion or complaints.

Directivity control will reduce the rooms effect on response across the mids and highs as well.

@zieglj01,
OP, please forgive me but I had to ask, Canton 509.2 seem's to be a nice speaker. Do you believe a pair of those Canton 509.2 would be a good upgrade over Polk M70 series 2? I am wanting a pair of Martin Logan 40's but at 2 grand a pair would have to coin away for them. Canton 509.2 has their magnesium Twitter. No doubt they're better build quality than the M 70s. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

They are in a higher league over the Polk, and should clearly be an ear opener for you -- I would seriously think about getting them before they are gone

Everybody is going to recommend what they listen to. I think Elac gives you the best bang for the buck from your list but I have to qualify klipsch speakers i've heard sounded painful.

Take a look at these . I own their predecessor 2 generations back called the Image T45 . I have move at least 4 times with these speakers. They do music and home theater equally well. PSB is held in high regard in the audio industry.

I looked at both the X1T and X2T, the binding posts look exactly the same as on my Definitive Technology Studio Monitor 65, 55, 45 bookshelf speakers. Wondering if the crossover is built by the same company in both brands (PSB , DefTech).

Its a possibility if they are being both built offshore.
