Good to know. It is for over the air transmissions only.
I bet a lot of people get these will find a way to trade their government voucher on the black market for liquor or drugs. lol
I agree with your guess. They'll be as small and as cheap as possible. Ever see the new cable boxes that are about the size of a novel? That's what I'm thinking here.Out of curiosity, if these things have digital tuners in them, is it possible to use them for OTA HD reception for a projector (i.e. without an internal tuner)? And does the converter output in HD or not? I'm guessing not.
that will totally screw (figuratively speaking, of course) a ladyfriend of mine in Rochester, NY who uses only her antenna and has a DVD/VCR hooked up via a composite input. Also I think if your TV has composite, svideo, component video inputs it doesn't qualify. Has to be pure analog.

Oh gauranteed there will be a scam on a massive scale, just like food stampsI bet a lot of people get these will find a way to trade their government voucher on the black market for liquor or drugs. lol
Sorry I meant OTA antenna connection. If the TV has any type of video inputs then you might be screwed. All the video input types you listed *are* purely analog. Only HDMI and DVI are digital. Even the standard 15-pin VGA port on many HDTV's is analog RGB (and even the DVI port carries the analog VGA signals also, hence the little "dongles" some video cards come with to adapt your old VGA monitor to the DVI port.)
