SVS Contest
1.) The SVS Bill of Rights is a reminder to the consumer that their satisfaction is the most important part of the SVS business model. It reassures the consumer that SVS understands that it’s not just how deep the bass goes, how reliable the product is, or how competitive the price point, but whether or not they are creating a customer for life.
My favorite is # 11 – Total After Purchase Support. I too often find that once a particular company has my money, and I have their product, that no further interaction is expected/wanted. With SVS, I can be assured that when my product arrives, I will have the support needed to extract every bit of enjoyment possible from my new purchase.
2.) I think SVS’s initial price points can be a bit intimidating to a novice to quality audio. I believe a line of products below the NSD model line (an SB8-X or the return of a PB10-X etc.) starting in the $400 range would open the door to people with more limited finances/less demanding audio standards. Of course, SVS would have to carefully weigh the compromises needed to hit these prices in order to maintain its lofty standards.
3.) A great subwoofer should give me confidence that I’m getting excellent performance per dollar, play tight, controlled, tuneful bass over a broad range of frequencies, while being backed by a warranty that shows the manufacturer’s confidence in the quality of its product.
