Emotiva has new subs (12/1/16)

I don't understand Emotiva. One of their previous subs were quite good values, however, not long after they were measured Emotiva quit selling them. In the past it seems like Emotiva bought a large batch of the current model and sold them until they were gone. Instead of reordering more inventory, they just waited several months then introduce a new product.

Got the email about the subs too. Hopefully we can get a review of the 12" sometime.

They also dropped the price of the new MC-700 by another $100.

S12's Frequency response - 25 Hz - 200 Hz (+0/-3 dB).
For ported box with 12" driver and 300W amp it's somewhat ok, guess, but at $340 it's hard to complain, besides the box size is quite small. I think they could've gotten more performance out this system with larger front ported box.

between HSU's VTF1-MK3 ($369+$52 s/h)and this it would easy choice - I'd go with emotiva at current pricing.

Where is the S8 model? It mentions it in the introduction, but not to be found. I would be very interested in the S8. Looks like it may have been discontinued, no? Dual S10's would probably work for my needs. Are these a new design?

Chris I am asking myself the same questions. The S8's would be of great interest to me. The S10 also looks appealing. Just not sure if these are a total new design or just one that Emotiva is bringing back. Seems like I remember Emotiva having subs in the past. Of course, that was like back in 2007 or so. It is going to be interesting to see how well they do.

Hey Phil. I don't know much about the old subs but from what I saw about the previous sub (XREF12) that was a sealed box so different design, think the previous Ultra models were also sealed. Would be nice if Emotiva would provide measurements but maybe Audioholics will revisit their subs with reviews....

Chris I do not know much about the former Emotiva subs either. I do remember them being somewhat popular back nearly 10-years ago or so. If you download the manual for the S12/S10, you can get the specs for the S8. Just not too sure when it will be released. The S12/S10 looks like will ship out on 12/15/16. Sure is tempting......LOL!!!!!!!
