I think the exposed front tire will be an issue. There seems to be a lot of activity around cheap pickups, I guess because they are cheaper to build. With it being that small, not sure how well it will really sell. The Slate and the new Ford are shooting to have a model in this price range as well. The low range Slate will be $27k and Ford is shooting for around $30k as well. It feels like that market will get saturated quickly.

Side note. Canoo was targeting that price range for their truck… prior to shuttering operations.
As was Tesla teasing the cybertruck would be in that price range, when it was introduced, at least.

Toyota is talking about a small EV pickup as well, but at this point, it is whoever gets it to market first. That won't be Tesla. The Cybertruck is a disaster for them and they said they won't be able to deliver the low cost version at that price point.

That was what caught my eye in their thumbnail, but not sure why an issue, what are you thinking?

We'll see who actually gets what to market when and at what price....Tesla sure hasn't ever met pricing "promises".

If you hit something, like a center divide, it will climb it and flip over. Looked it up and even Jeeps are required to have a full width bumper in Ca. so they'll have to do something to sell it here. Looks like they can take them off for off-roading, but not on road.

Hadn't thought about that....but on my bikes have done that climb the side of the hill thing like that a few times . A good bumper might do it, and could probably even look good doing it. I wonder how much of a standard that is when they've talked about passing the standards they have....

I have a very similar (not the NACS port version) charger in my garage, selected to get the state's free money. Amazon is full of bad reviews saying Wifi dies on these... and lo and behold, Wifi died on mine too just about a few months from one full year. Getting Chargepoint support is pointless - I opened several cases online - they never got back to me.

The charge function still works, but since wifi is down all "smart" features are obviously dead, and you can trust me - I won't be buying another ChargePoint product in my life.

I think I’ve interfaced with a public charger 3 times in 3yrs.

My commute is going from ~5 mi to about 20 one way. There aren't too many public chargers in the area, and the nearest free one (EA, my free charging ends in May when my lease is up) is pretty far away. Since I won't get free charging anymore and will likely need to charge more often, AND the big stupid bill is ending the home charger rebate in June, figured now is a good time to install it. Work has free chargers, but they're only free for 4hrs.

I have had OK support from Chargepoint. It probably helps that they are based here in the bay area. The subdivision where I live now has 6 chargers and the one nearest to me had the cables cut. They responded right away, but it took them months to replace the cables.

Went with NACS for this one even though my current car is CCS. I decided to turn it in and get a 2026, which has NACS. Technology is still changing, so I am likely to lease again instead of buy. They are offering some great deals right now with the tax credit having expired.
